On arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, you will proceed through customs and immigration, produce your e-visa, then carry on to collect your luggage, and then to the arrivals area to meet your transfer driver. Your driver will take you to your hotel, where you will spend the night. Dinner by own arrangement.
Depart Entebbe and fly to Murchison Falls National Park, one of the most scenic spots along the Nile and the location of the classic Humphrey Bogart film, The African Queen. After settling into your lodge on the banks of the Victoria Nile, join your guide for a visit to Murchison Falls, where invigorating spray — the collective force of the majestic Nile — showers a narrow ravine.
Today, set out on a game drive along the northern banks of the Nile in the heart of Murchison Falls National Park. You may see giraffes, buffalo, elephants, warthogs, leopards, lions and antelopes. This afternoon, embark on a boat cruise to the base of the falls, watching for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and birds on the river’s banks.
After breakfast, you will be driven to the airstrip for the flight to Kibale, where you will be met and transferred to Kibale Lodge.
Kibale Forest is home to 11 species of primates, including chimpanzees and mangabeys, as well as 300 species of birds. Rise early this morning for the start of your chimpanzee trek - a thrilling once in a lifetime experience.
Later, you will return to the lodge to refresh before dinner and relaxing.
Today, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Participate in game drives this afternoon and the next day. While exploring, watch above for tree-climbing lions, a sight seldom seen anywhere else in Africa. Toast your day on safari with a Scenic Sundowner.
Set out for a morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park. Make your way out of the Rift Valley through the Kigezi Highlands and on to the mountains of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spend the afternoon at camp or visit the local village for arts & crafts.
Spend the morning tracking endangered mountain gorillas, spending up to an hour among them each day. When you encounter a mountain gorilla in the wild, there is no mistaking the bond that exists between primate and humans — and no escaping the poignant fact these creatures lie on the brink of extinction. Later, you may wish to tour the Uganda Nursing School Bwindi, meeting the teachers empowering the region’s health care workers. Another option is Ride 4 a Woman, a local project in the heart of Buhoma, which economically and socially empowers local women in the closest communities surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Here, you can purchase beautiful hand-crafted goods, baskets, and other items, and meet the women who make them.
Spend the evening at the lodge.
Today, you can either be driven or take a 4-hour hike through the Bwindi forest, where you will then be met and transferred to Clouds Lodge. Spend the remainder of the day at the lodge, resting up for your day tomorrow.
One of the best parts of Clouds is its pedigree as a ground-breaking community conservation story. Here, you may have an authentic experience with members of the local communities. Built in partnership with the local community of Nkuringo as well as the Africa Wildlife Foundation and the International Gorilla Conservation Programme, Clouds benefits not just the gorillas and their habitat, but also the development of the local community who are the true owners of this property.
Another highlight is the gorilla habituation experience. Found inside the Ugandan borders, at the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, this is a learning experience that has become a stable activity presented by the Uganda Wildlife Authority on a small scale.
This morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Entebbe to connect with your international flights home.
End of your Uganda Adventure!
