Upon arrival in Vancouver transfer independently to your hotel.   Spend the rest of the day exploring this scenic coastal city on your own.

Day 2: Kamloops

Travel onboard Rocky Mountaineer from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops, located in the heart of British Columbia's interior.

On today's journey, you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through
forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains, to the desert-like landscapes of the BC interior.

Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the
Thompson River. Your day ends as the train travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake into the town of Kamloops.

Day 3: Banff

Your journey continues eastward to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Once again, you will experience ever-changing scenery as you travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Canadian Rockies.

Today's highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and, of course, the iconic glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the
Canadian Rockies. Your rail journey ends this evening in the resort town of Banff.

Day 4: Banff

Shared Group Tour - Discover Banff & its Wildlife with Gondola

This small group tour is the perfect introduction to Banff and includes some of Banff's most scenic and historically significant highlights such as the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Bow Falls, Surprise Corner Lookout, and Banff's largest lake, Lake Minnewanka. Plus, enjoy hot chocolate or fresh water (depending on the time of year) and maple cookies at one of the scenic stops.

You'll then be transported to the base of Sulphur Mountain and ride the Banff Gondola to the top at 7,486 feet. At the summit, marvel at the unsurpassed view of Banff, the Bow Valley and a 360-degree view of six scenic mountain ranges. Youll feel like you're on top of the world when you are standing on the spacious main level observation deck. After your download on the Banff Gondola, the guide will transport you back to your Banff hotel.

Day 5: Lake Louise

Day 7: Calgary

Today enjoy a 3.5 hours coach transfer to Calgary downtown. Well known for the historic Calgary Stampede, this vibrant city is also a year round destination. Venture to the top of the Calgary Tower for 360 degree views of this sprawling city or stroll through Eau Claire Market to sample tasty treats.
