Day 1: The Sacred Valley of the Incas

After connecting in Lima, you will arrive in Cusco where a Trek Safaris representative will be on hand to greet you after you collect your luggage. They will then transfer you to the Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba where a superior deluxe room has been reserved. No activities are planned as you will want to relax from the travel. Dinner is included this evening at the hotel.  

Day 2: The Sacred Valley of the Incas

This morning you will enjoy breakfast at the hotoel then your guide will meet you in the lobby. Today starts with a visit to Chinchero, a small picturesque Andean village. Enter the home of a textile artisan, where you will see some of his original work and learn about his techniques, as well as his creative process. Then visit its significant Inca ruins dating from the end of the 15th Century, as well as a beautiful traditional church. Afterwards, on the road to Ollantaytambo, you will stop at the Racchi viewpoint, for one of the best views of the Sacred Valley. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Then it is on to Ollantaytambo, one of the most representative building complexes of the Inca Empire and site of one of the Spanish Conquistadors' rare strategic defeats. Famous for its terraced fields, Ollantaytambo was a very effective fortress and also a religious center. Finally, you will stop at the village of Ollantaytambo, known as "the only living Inca town". It is the best surviving example of Inca urban planning, with stone-paved streets that have been inhabited since the 12th Century. Along the way you will enjoy lunch at Wayra restaurant. Late this afteroon you will arrive back at you hotel for the evening. Dinner is included again at the hotel.

Day 3: Machu Picchu

Enjoy breakfast again at the hotel. Your guide will meet you and transfer you to the the Urubamba train station. This is the star of your visit to Machu Picchu; one of the most important tourist destinations in the world. The excursion begins with a magical trip on the Perurail Sacred Valley Train. The route of this exclusive train goes through the Sacred Valley and includes a delicious lunch and magnificent Andean scenery on the way to the town of Aguas Calientes. When you arrive, you will start the ascent to the ruins, which will without a doubt be one of your most unforgettable experiences. In Machu Picchu, your guide will show you the secrets of one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World, and you can take some impressive photos. After your tour of Machu Picchu, your guide will take you to the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge where a deluxe terrace room has been reserved. Dinner is included at the lodge. 

Activities and Services

Day 4: Cusco

This morning you will enjoy breakfast at the Lodge. After breakfast you can enjoy your second visit to Machu Picchu to explore the city on your own (maximum of 4 hours). Lunch will be at the Lodge followed by an afternoon on the Hiram Bingham Train back to Poroy. Once you arrive back in Poroy, you will be transferred to the Ananay Palacio Manco Capac where a deluxe room has been reserved. Dinner is included at the hotel.

Day 5: End of Itinerary

No activities are planned as you will depart Cusco for your flight back home.
