Day notes

Today you will visit the famous Sugar Loaf Mountain & Corcovado, with the Statue Of Christ The Redemmer!

We will drive to "Praia Vermelha" (Red beach), to take the two stage car up to the top of Sugar Loaf (270m), which grants the entrance to Rio's harbor and Guanabara Bay. The Italian made cable car holds 80 passengers and each of the two stages takes two minutes. The first stage is Morro da Urca with 170m, with a restaurant, amphitheatre and helicopter-point. The second stage goes on the Sugar Loaf itself, thus named for its resemblance to the loaves of sugar used by the Portuguese at the time of the city's discovery.

In the Afternoon you will visit Corcovado!

HalfDay Citytour Of Rio including visit to Corcovado Mountain by Train up the Statue Of Christ The Redeemer!

You will visit another one of Rio de Janeiro highlights and a world's icon: the Corcovado Mountain.

We will drive to one of the older parts of Rio called Cosme Velho, from where we take the train to the Corcovado Mountain with the gigantic statue of Christ the Redeemer (2.300ft above sea level). A modern swiss-made cogwheel rail climbs the mountain from its base at 15meters almost to the summit at 710 meters. The train trip up takes 17 minutes aprox, at a maximum speed of 15km/h. The trip down takes 22min, at a speed of 12km/h.

Download Our Free App And Go On Your Own Walking Tour of Historic Downtown Rio!

Expert tips:

Today You Have The Chance Of Creating Your Own Tour!

You can do it by downloading our App! You will be granted free access to our App once your booking process is complete.

Via App, from your hotel, you will be directed to the next Metro Station - walking distant from hotel - and ride 20 minutes to "Carioca Station", in the heart of Rio Downtown Area!

Then you will connect by Tramm to "Parada Dos Museus" (Our App Gives You All The Directions). Once you alight you will be right in front of "Mural Kobra". One of the biggest Graffitti Works on Earth.

Located in Gamboa, the 2500 m² "Etnias" Panel  is signed by muralist Eduardo Kobra.

One of the largest graphites panels stared the world, according to the Guinness World Record, is the newest tourist attraction in Rio de Janeiro was inspired by the Olympic rings representing the five continents and received the name of “ethnic groups”. The art is signed by Eduardo Kobra, which has works spread over 20 countries, such as England, France, USA, Russia, Greece, Italy, Sweden and Poland.

Then you can get our App Directions and visit Valongo Wharf (Portuguese: Cais do Valongo) is an old dock located in the port area of Rio de Janeiro, between the current Coelho e Castro and Sacadura Cabral streets.

Built in 1811, it was the site of landing and trading of enslaved Africans until 1831, with the blockade of Africa banning the Atlantic slave trade to Brazil (but clandestine trade continued until 1888).  During the twenty years of its operation, between 500 thousand and one million slaves landed at Valongo. Brazil received about 4.9 million slaves through the Atlantic trade.

In 1843, the wharf was renovated for the landing of Princess Teresa Cristina of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, who was to marry the emperor D. Pedro II. The wharf was then called Cais da Imperatriz (Empress Wharf).

In 2011, during the excavations carried out as part of the revitalization works in the Rio de Janeiro port area, the two wharfs - Valongo and Imperatriz - were discovered, one on top of the other, and, along with them, a large number of amulets and worship objects from Congo, Angola and Mozambique. The wharf was  designated a World Heritage Site in 2017.

From there you can walk through Orla Conde, visit Largo do Teles, Paço Imperial, Confeitaria Colombo, you can have lunch at the beautiful Cais do Oriente and take the tram to Santa Teresa, if you wish (take it, until end station, alight, have a Caipirinha at "Favela Chic" Bar. And take the tram back to "Carioca" Metro Station to connect back to Copacabana!

It will be lots of fun.
