Take a guided tour city tour around the historic Rocks precinct, visit Sydney's historic buildings then continue around Circular Quay, the Opera House and the magnificent Botanical Gardens. Sit on Mrs Macquarie’s chair to absorb the excellent of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

Discover the dramatic Blue Mountains and its superb bush walking trails. Stop at Featherdale Wildlife Park to meet Australia’s Kangaroos and Koalas. Continue west to the Blue Mountains National Park then onward to Kings Tableland. After lunch at the charming village of Leura, take a 2-hour hike to the famous Three Sisters Rock Formation.

Transfer back to Sydney Airport and take a direct domestic flight to Cairns (3 hours and 15 mins). From Cairns, transfer to the Port Douglas area (1 hour drive away). Stay in the tropical holiday town of Port Douglas.

Port Douglas

Sail off in the luxurious Aquarius Catamaran, a dedicated snorkel-only vessel. Cruise to the Low Isles Island in the Great Barrier Reef to swim and snorkel in the playground of green turtles and parrot fish. Explore the Low Isles lagoon then enjoy a gourmet lunch back on the Aquarius. Take a guided stroll around the island, before cruising back to Port Douglas.

Join a tour of the Daintree National Park, a World Heritage listed forest region. Step aboard a small craft for a cruise on the Daintree River. Glide close to riverbanks and under the overhead canopy of the rainforest. Seek out the vivid Ulysses Butterfly, Kingfishers and magnificent crocodiles.

Transfer back to Cairns airport for a domestic flight to Ayers Rock (either direct or via Alice Springs). Its time to experience the real outback of Australia, where the skyscrapers are made of rock and night sky is studded with diamonds. This arid environment is home to a huge variety of unique animals.

Join a guided tour and visit the Kata-Tjuta (Olgas) for a walk into Walpa Gorge. Spend time in the Aborginal Cultural Centre, before continuing onto the base of Uluru (Ayers Rock) to hear the dreamtime stories of the Anangu People and see Anangu rock art. Take a guided walk to the Mutitjulu Waterhole.

Transfer back to Ayers Rock Airport for a domestic flight to Adelaide in Southern Australia. Adelaide is a cosmopolitan city, renowned for it’s museums, art galleries and wine. The wine region is unique for it's combination of rich European heritage and fresh Barossa lifestyle. There are many hidden treasures to be found this rural setting.

See the highlights of South Australia’s premier nature destination, Kangaroo Island. After pick-up at 6.45am take a 45 min ferry trip to Penneshaw to visit the Seal Bay Conservation Park. A Park Ranger will take you on a beach walk to see Australian Sea-lions. Stop for lunch in a beautiful bush setting at Vivonne Bay Bistro, then visit the Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary to see koalas. Explore Flinders Chase National Park. Return to Adelaide via Rex Air at 7.30 pm.

Queenstown

Take a scenic flight connection between Queenstown and Milford Sound. This is the ultimate way to experience New Zealand’s dramatic alpine scenery. After flying into Milford Sound join a 1 hour 40 minute Scenic Cruise from the comfort of a spacious and modern boat. Enjoy the vastness of the fjords, cascading waterfalls and penguins at play. Fly back to Queenstown in the early afternoon.

Take a 5.5 hour drive to Fox Glacier (or Franz Josef Glacier) via Wanaka and Haast Pass. Stop along the way for a walk to the beautiful ‘Blue Pools’ near Makarora and absorb the ocean views at Shipwreck Cove. The terminal face of Fox Glacier is only 5 km from the Fox township. Stay 2 nights in Fox village.

The Fox Glacier and Franz Josef townships provide quality accommodation, cafes and services. Access to Fox Glacier is provided by local companies offering guided walks, heli-hikes and scenic flights (with or without snow landings). Nearby Lake Matheson is famous for its stunning mirror images of Aorangi/Mount Cook and Mount Tasman. A less known attraction is the 25km to Gillespie Beach which connects to a lagoon walk - check the tides first!

Greymouth

The stunning West Coast region is one of the most sparsely populated parts of the country with very few towns on the 600 kms of coastal road between Karamea and Jackson Bay. At Ross, explore the goldfield walkway and stop for a picnic by the shores of Lake Ianthe. Visit the White Heron colony near Whataroa. Stop at Hokitika for a coffee and a visit to the museum then buy some Pounamu (Jade).

The Great Coast Road is Lonely Planet’s Top 10 Coastal Drives in the world and connects between Greymouth and Westport. Travel pass the ancient limestone cliffs of Paparoa National Park, home to the world's smallest penguin. Stop on the way for underground rafting at Charleston or caving at Fox River. Visit the famous Pancake Rocks and Blowholes at Punakaiki. Highway 6 continues north through the dramatic Buller Gorge. Along this section is a beautiful photo stop (please use the correct pullover area). Further ahead is Lyell and it’s historic walkway and viewpoint.

Abel Tasman National Park

The beautiful Nelson-Tasman region contains New Zealand's smallest National Park, the Abel Tasman National Park. Golden beaches and azure waters stretch from Kaiteriteri to Collingwood in the Golden Bay.Try to include at one of the inland tracks through the centre of the park - the beautiful coastal track, and the inland track. Bring your own supplies and hiking gear. Visit nearby Marahau, then take a short drive from Motueka to Kaiteriteri Beach a favourite holiday spot with a lovely safe beach.

Domestic flight to Rotorua from Nelson. Between Taupo and Rotorua, there are a number of recommended thermal areas to visit, such as Orakei Korako, Waiotapu and the Waimangu Valley.This afternoon, arrive in Rotorua, the ‘capital of Maori’ culture. Try some mountain biking, join a farm tour or fly by helicopter to extinct volcanos.

Plan for a full day in Rotorua. Visit the volcanic areas and hot pools around the town, enjoy a traditional Hangi concert and a boat trip. Zipline through the forest or fish on the lake. A scenic flight over the Rotorua and Tarawera (3 + 4-star package) is part of your morning activity. For the 5-star package, guests take a memorable flight-hiking combo with Volcanic Air Safari to White Island. For the rest of the afternoon, soak in one of nature’s hot springs or have a relaxing massage. For outdoor adventure, fish for trout, kayak or go mountain biking. Try sky-diving, jet boating and zorbing. A trip to a original Maori Village (Ohinemutu) and an evening Hangi concert with dinner is included in your itinerary.

Take a 2-hour drive to nature’s ‘underground park, the Waitomo Caves. Drive through classic rural North Island rolling landscape between Arapuni and Te Awamutu. In Otorohanga, visit the Kiwi House & Native Birds Park. At Waitomo choose a caving option. ‘Dry caving’ does not require a wetsuit but other options do. Although we have included the 2-hour ‘Ruakuri Cave’ in your itinerary, some travellers prefer the more exciting 3-4 hour ‘Black Water Rafting’, which includes swimming and walking through the cave. After your ‘underworld’ experience, continue on to the Coromandel Peninsula for the last few days of your stay.
