Day 1: South Luangwa National Park

On arrival at Mfuwe Airport, you will be met and transferred to Tafika Main Camp where you will spend the next three nights.  The Camp, located on the east bank of the Luangwa River, makes it ideal for those who enjoy the serenity of the bush. It serves as an ideal peaceful starting point for visitors to experience game drives, walking safaris as well as unique cycling trails. The variety of animal species guarantees a memorable African adventure.

Days 2 - 3: South Luangwa National Park

During your stay at Tafika Main Camp, your days are filled with activities, including morning, afternoon and evening game drives, providing opportunities to witness the park's wildlife. Guided walking safaris will bring you even closer to nature, while cycling safaris offer a unique perspective of the surroundings. You'll also have the opportunity to experience the local culture with a visit to the nearby Mkasanga village.

The camp has 2 hides which offer the opportunity of game viewing in-between activities. The hides overlook the camp waterhole which is often frequented by herds of elephant during August to November.

Our seasonal Carmine bee-eater hide (September through to October) offers great photographic opportunities of the colorful breeding colony.   

Days 4 - 5: South Luangwa National Park

Today you will head out to Big Lagoon Walking Camp that forms part of our trails camps. The camp, located on the west bank in the South Luangwa National Park, overlooks a lagoon from the surrounding ebony forest. It is only accessible on foot, and activities are dedicated to guided walking safaris. 

Guided walks provide guests the opportunity to experience the bush and connect with nature's pace, uncovering the wonders of the wilderness. you will encounter fascinating insects that live within animal droppings, tiny elephant shrews, delicate wide-eyed antelope to towering giraffe, enormous elephant and huge herds of buffalo with prides of lion in tow. Predators become the prey as you track lion’s prints from the night before to their resting place of that day.

Days 6 - 7: South Luangwa National Park

Today you will start your morning walk, ending off at Chikoko Tree Walking Camp.  As with Big Lagoon, your days will be made up of guided walks providing guests the opportunity to experience the bush and connect with nature's pace, uncovering the wonders of the wilderness. you will encounter fascinating insects that live within animal droppings, tiny elephant shrews, delicate wide-eyed antelope to towering giraffe, enormous elephant and huge herds of buffalo with prides of lion in tow. Predators become the prey as you track lion’s prints from the night before to their resting place of that day.

Day 8: End of Itinerary

Our safari ends after breakfast. You will be transferred to Mfuwe Airport, for your onward flight home. We hope to welcome you again one day on another of our African adventures!
