Day 1: Prince Albert

From 12:00 Arrive in Prince Albert and check into our accommodation.

13:00 Welcome drink at African Relish, meet the team. Light lunch prepared by the team and our resident chef.

14:00 Half day Karoo Tapas cooking class with our resident chef. Demo style.

18:30  Ghost walk / Prince Albert stories by Ailsa Tudhope.

20:00  Welcome dinner served at African Relish.

Day 2: Prince Albert

08:00  Breakfast at African Relish

09:00  Foodie Tour

Meet Brett the Vet vegan vegetable farmer at Tortoiseback Haven.

Visit Kredouw Olive farm for olive and oil tastings.

Meet farmer Gay at her Gay’s Guernsey Dairy for cheese talk and tasting.

Also meet butcher Eric Snijders for biltong and droëwors tasting.

Visit artist and knife artisan Cobus van der Bosch.  Making and sharpening of knives.

Visit the Perolds at SoetKaroo, a village farm with 1 hectare of grapes making world class wine.

13:30 Lunch served in the lovely garden at African Relish.

14:30 Hands-on half day Karoo on a Plate cooking class with our resident chef.

20:00  Festive Dinner served at African Relish, enjoying the days culinary endeavours.

Day 3: Prince Albert

08:00 Breakfast at Dennehof Conservatory.

09:30 Foraging with Dr Sue Milton on Gordons Koppie and RenuKaroo nursery.  

11:30 Depart from African Relish and head for Weltevrede Fig farm for lunch in fig groves and fig tour.

Afternoon at leisure for some local shopping.

18:00 Meet at Swartberg Hotel for Astronomy talk and sunset drive.

20:00 Celebration dinner at African Relish with stargazing into the night.

 

Day 4: Swellendam

DAY 4:

08:00  Breakfast demo.

10:30  Departure for Swellendam via the Swartberg and Tredoux Pass.

13h00 Lunch en route in Barrydale.

18h00 Dinner

Day 5: End of Itinerary

After breakfast and a morning tour of Swellendam, we return via the N2 to Cape Town, stopping en-route for lunch.

17h00 Transfer to your home or guest house.
