After clearing the entry formalities for Zimbabwe you will be met in the arrivals hall and transferred to the lodge in a very quiet part of Harare's suburbs, with lovely gardens and a swimming pool to relax and enjoy after your long flights.
An air transfer by light aircraft through to Gonarezhou - Doug Macdonald will meet you at the airstrip and after getting everything loaded and sorted your Gonarezhou safari starts right from here with a drive to camp.
While we are here in this area of the park a focus will be around the extraordinary Tembwahata and Machiniwa Pans which are the largest natural pans in Zimbabwe. Combine this with the beautiful woodland and open grasslands formed at the junction of these two perennial rivers and you have a top quality game viewing area that teems with animals - a great area for bush walks as well.
Our next camp also a seasonal tented camp set up in front of the famous Chilojo Cliffs is a beautiful place to be based for the next three nights. This area also has some beautiful wide open flood plains, natural pans and the ever present red Chilojo Cliffs as a wonderful backdrop. This area has a big reputation for predator sightings including wild dogs and lions and a lot of elephant and buffalo that come in and out of here daily from the dry interior to drink, it really is a great photographic area and for bush walks as well.
Your flight today is back to Harare, we only get these flight times 24hours prior so please do not arrange departure flights from Harare for early morning - later in the day preferably early evening is best or we can arrange extra nights for you at other destinations within Zimbabwe or further afield.
