Day 1: Nairobi

Upon arrival at Nairobi Airport after your international flight, you will be met by our representative who will help you with your luggage and take you to the transfer vehicle. You will be driven to the Tamarind Tree Hotel to unpack and unwind, with the rest of the day at your leisure. 

Day 2: Meru National Park

Pickup from Nairobi (airport or a hotel) and transfer to Wilson airport for your scheduled flight to Meru. ETD 1000hrs, ETA 1200hrs. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to our Rhino River Camp.

Rhino River Camp is situated in 60 acres of privately owned wilderness right on the edge of the Meru National Park and it is an excellent base from where to explore Meru National Park, with opportunities to see all of Africa’s “Big Five”. The camp is made up of two forest tents and five riverside tents built from caramel canvas and hardwood and is set on raised wooden platforms from where you can watch the gentle flow of the Kindani River. This makes your experience at Rhino River Camp truly magical. Each room is designed with its own private “meditation” area. Here one can unwind, meditate, read a novel or simply sit back and listen to the sounds of the river. Designed in contemporary style with subtle hints of Africa, the rooms are very pleasant yet unobtrusive and elegant.

The camp also offers a swimming pool, a restaurant area, a well stocked bar as well as many activities for you to explore. Whether you choose to watch the African wildlife ; walk in the bush or lie in the sun, Rhino River Camp can indulge in your every whim.

Day 3: Meru National Park

Spend the day exploring the Meru National Park - one of the least visited and therefore one of the least spoiled of Kenya’s national parks. The equator bisects the park whose 1810 sq. km landscape is mainly given over to bushland but with grasslands in the west. Thick forests grow along the park’s many watercourses. The park has 13 rivers and a myriad of mountain streams that feed into the Tana river. Hundreds of bird species have made the park their home Mammals inhabiting the park include leopard, cheetah, elephant, lion, both Grevy’s and plains zebra, hartebeest, hippo, reticulated giraffe and some decent sized herds of buffalo. The big cats can sometimes be difficult to spot due to areas of tall grass cover and dense bushland

Day 5: Olare Motorogi Conservancy

After breakfast, checkout and transfer to Kinna airstrip for  your scheduled flight to the world famous Maasai Mara, where you will board your scheduled flight (ETD 0905hrs, ETA 1100hrs) . Upon arrival at the Olare Motorogi Airstrip you will be  met by our Maasai guides and transferred to Porini Lion Camp located in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy, arriving for lunch.

The conservancy directly borders the Maasai Mara National Reserve and it contains the lower valleys of the Olare Orok and Ntiakitiak rivers, riverine forest, the Ntiakitiak Gorge and a 12km escarpment below which are large areas of acacia woodland. There is unsurpassed game-viewing within the conservancy due to its unspoiled natural state and the Porini Lion Camp – with just ten tents – ensures guests have a genuine “away from it all” experience deep in the African bush.  The high-quality, spacious tents are tastefully furnished and each has solar-powered lighting, ensuite facilities (with hot shower and flush toilet) and a private verandah.

Day 6: Olare Motorogi Conservancy

Spend the day exploring the Mara reserve and Olare Motorogi conservancy (with picnic lunch).

This is a diverse landscape harboring varied habitats within its majestic plains, rocky outcrops, ancient woodland and life-giving rivers. It adjoins the northern sweep of neighbouring Tanzania’s Serengeti plains thus forming one huge ecosystem.

Days 8 - 10: Diani Beach

After breakfast, checkout and enjoy a gamedrive enroute to Olare Motorogi airstrip for your scheduled   flight back to to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport (ETD 1115hrs, ETA 1300hrs).

Days 11 - 12: Nairobi
