Samburu National Reserve

Day notes

After breakfast, drive north through the rich agricultural and hilly mosaic of small farms, pineapple and coffee plantations with a brief stop at the Equator where you will see a simple water test to ascertain the magnetic effect on the northern & southern sphere. Continue to Samburu Game Reserve which provides unique opportunities for viewing the fascinating wildlife of the arid north. Arrive at your preferred choice of accommodation. Enjoy lunch and later in the afternoon head out for game viewing drive in this wildlife reserve that provides some of the best and most colorful game viewing in the country. Return for dinner and overnight.

Samburu National Reserve

Day notes

Morning and afternoon game viewing drives in Samburu and Buffalo Springs Game Reserve ecosystem. The entire Samburu region is a place of breathtaking and magical beauty, a place where the vision of a deep red sunset silhouetting the doum palms along the river is truly fascinating. All meals and overnight at your camp.

Day 4

This morning after an early breakfast, depart to Mbweha Camp with a brief stop at the 7800 feet Thompson's Falls for a breath taking view of the falls. We arrive at our camp to a warm welcome and enjoy a leisurely lunch. This afternoon proceed on a guided nature walk with the camp’s naturalist. As night falls led by a professional and experienced night game spotter, depart on a short night game viewing drive. It cannot get more exciting than this! The thrill is beyond human explanation. This is an opportunity to see some of the nocturnal animals that we may not see during the day, as we enjoy the sweet cricket melodies and watch the stars twinkle in their splendor. What about spotting an aardvark! An African myth goes that if one spots this rare animal at night one is considered lucky and may live for over 100 years!! This might be our night!! We return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

    

Soysambu Conservancy

Day notes

This morning enjoy breakfast then depart for a full day of game viewing. We may drive to the lake shore where we may walk with hundreds of greater and lesser flamingos. Lake Nakuru National park is one of the best places to relax, to unwind, to let go, to reflect, to enjoy nature’s beauty. The scenery is breath taking; a sight of the virgin forest is reassuring. Enjoy lunch and continue with the game viewing drive. The park is one of the best game viewing parks with various animal species including prides of lion, Cape buffalo, waterbuck, wart hogs, the endangered Rothschild giraffes, the black & white Rhino, the Burchell’s zebra, impalas, and the elusive leopard among many others. Over 300 bird species have been recorded here too. Dinner and overnight at our camp.

Day 6

    

Masai Mara

Day notes

After an early breakfast and depart for the Masai Mara National Reserve to arrive at the intimate 20 tent Tipilikwani Camp to a very warm welcome and in time for a late lunch. This afternoon is the moment we have been longing for – we depart on an exciting game viewing drive. The Rolling plains and grasslands, stretching far into the horizons as far as the eye can see is home to the black manned lion, the savannah elephant, the Cape buffalo, wildebeests, the elusive leopard, cheetah, the spotted & stripped hyena, the rhino, topi, burchelle’s zebra, the Masai giraffe among many others. The Mara Game Reserve is one that can never disappoint. One is spoilt by the variety of bird and wildlife species in this game reserve….. For a long time, Mara Game Reserve has stubbed her authority as the ‘granary’ of wildlife in Kenya. We return back to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7

    

Masai Mara

Day notes

Full day in Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game viewing drives in search of the 'big five'. Masai Mara is the northern most extension of the Serengeti Plains and one of the richest wildlife Game Reserves. It is home to the awesome black manned lion, the elusive leopard, stately giraffes, vast bulk of elephants, rhino, thundering herds of zebra, migrating wildebeest and numerous other plains game. Visit a Masai village (Manyatta) where you will spend memorable moments with these wonderful people. It is simply fascinating to listen to their stories, their legends, songs and myths. Despite influence from the modern culture, the Masai have held to that which they have known and learned from their forefathers. If it is a school day we will visit one of the several primary schools sponsored by the Manji Foundation and spend time with these gorgeous children. It is memory you will cherish forever! Return to your camp for dinner and overnight.

End of Itinerary

This morning enjoy breakfast and check out. We bid farewell to our safari and then transfer to the airstrip for the scheduled flight to Nairobi. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Sarova Stanley Hotel where a day room is reserved for your comfort until 6pm. Depending on your flight time, this evening you are guests of your host Family for dinner before being transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your onward flight.
