Markham Irish Rugby Club - Halifax: June 27th - July 2nd, 2024

DAY ONE:  

Morning flight to Halifax and transfer to accommodation.  

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walking tour of Halifax, the provincial capital of Nova Scotia.  Halifax is not only a major business centre, but it is also renown for its fascinating maritime history. The city’s dominated by the impressive hilltop fortress, the Citadel completed in the 1850s.  The vibrant downtown has beautiful restored waterfront warehouses that recall Halifax’s days as a trading hub for privateers, notably during the War of 1812.  

The team will enjoy a welcome group dinner.

Overnight at St. Mary's University

Breakfast at the hotel.  The team will transfer by private coach to play their first game in Halifax.   There may be an opportunity for a team social and free time in the afternoon to explore the local area.

Transfer back to the Residence for overnight.

DAY THREE: 

Breakfast at the hotel.  The team will board their private coach and make their way to Mahone Bay.  On route, the team will stop at Peggy's Cove.  This stunningly beautiful, small rural community located on the eastern shore of St. Margaret's Bay is famous for its picturesque oceanside views and the iconic Peggys Cove Lighthouse.  

In the afternoon, the team will experience a cycling excursion full of fun and team spirit as they cycle across the beautiful seaside setting.  The team will enjoy a ride along one of the prettiest, paved coastal roads in all of Nova Scotia.  The group will enjoy a picnic lunch on Backman's Beach and onward into Lunenburg.

Dinner in Mahone Bay will be on your own.

DAY FOUR:

Breakfast at the hotel.  The team will transfer by private coach to play their second game.   There may be an opportunity for a team social and free time in the afternoon to explore the local area.

Transfer back to the Residence for overnight.

DAY FIVE:

The team will enjoy a free day.

There will be a final team farewell dinner.

Overnight at the Residence.

DAY SIX:

Breakfast at the Residence.  

Transfer by private coach to the airport for your return flight home.
