Welcome to Rwanda!
On arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you will be met and assisted with immigration formalities. Then you will collect your luggage and meet your driver for a private road transfer to your hotel. Dinner by own arrangement.
After breakfast, you will check out and meet your guide for a tour of the city. Visit the new Nyandungu Eco-Park, stop at the Genocide Memorial Museum, view some local art, and stop for lunch. Afterward, you will be driven to Akagera National Park for a wildlife safari experience.
Today you will be returned to Kigali, then continue on to your lodge, located in Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy the afternoon as you please, walk the grounds, or simply relax.
Early this morning, you will be taken to the park headquarters to start your gorilla trekking journey. Once your gorilla family has been located, you will be able to spend an hour with these magnificent animals before heading back to meet your guide, then return to the lodge. Spend the afternoon enjoying one of the other activities available.
Today, you will check out and meet your guide for the drive to Nyungwe. As the drive is quite long, it is possible to add in a night or two on a luxury houseboat on Lake Kivu to break up the travel time.
During your stay, you will be able to spend part of a day tracking chimps. They are fast-moving and somewhat elusive, which makes for an exciting adventure as you trek through the forest to find them.
Today you will depart Nyungwe - either by car or local flight - and head back to Kigali and to the international airport for your flights home.
