 Airport assistance at Maya Maya Airport (Brazzaville)

Congo Conservation Company’s charter flight: departs Brazzaville at 1pm, arrives Odzala at 3pm (2 hours), landing at Mboko Airstrip where you will meet your driver for your road transfer to Ngaga Camp (3-hour drive through the Odzala-Kokoua National Park)

You will be met by your Camp Manager for your check in and orientation of the camp.

At pre-dinner drinks around the fire you will meet the Gorilla Researchers who will inform you about the gorilla families of the area and about the Gorilla Trek the following morning.

Enjoy a delicious 3 course meal in the dining room.

OVERNIGHT: 3 nights Ngaga Camp (Fully Inclusive in Forest Room)

Day notes

A light breakfast is served at 05:30 before we start Gorilla Trekking at 06:00.

Depart with an expert Tracker and one of our Guides for a Gorilla Trek. (Due to the nature of this activity gorilla treks can be anywhere from 2 hours to a full day.)

Return for lunch back at Ngaga Camp.

 Afternoon relaxation followed by a forest walk for bird watching and discovery of forest life and river sundowners.

In the evening meet for pre-dinner drinks around the fire before enjoying a delicious 3 course meal in the dining room.

A light breakfast is served inside the restaurant at 05:30.

At 06:00 depart with an expert Tracker and one of the Guides for your morning Gorilla Trekking.

Lunch is served back at Ngaga Camp.

Enjoy an Afternoon Forest Walk ending with an ice cold drink in the Ngaga stream.

Pre-dinner drinks are enjoyed around the fire discussing your Gorilla experience with the researchers before a delicious 3 course meal is served in the dining room.

Unique to Ngaga, your guide will escort you on a night walk in the forest looking for rare nocturnal animals.

Road transfer through Mbomo village and the Odzala-Kokoua National Park to Mboko Camp for lunch

Onward to Lango Camp and baï via a kayak trip on the Lekoli River

Relaxed afternoon in camp or a discovery baï walk, followed by sundowners

After breakfast take a wooden path walk through the swamp and a game drive transfer to Mboko Camp

The transfer to Mboko Camp take around 3 hours in a game drive vehicle.

Upon arrival at Mboko Camp you are greeted with a welcome drink and cold towel. Take a moment to appreciate the breathtaking savanna that surrounds the lodge.

Check-in is followed by lunch.

In the afternoon enjoy a guided Boat Safari along the Lekoli River. This is one of the best ways to view forest animals such as Forest Elephants, Forest Buffalo and the reclusive Sitatunga.

In the evening meet for pre-dinner drinks around the fire before a delicious 3 course meal is served in the dining room.

Congo Conservation Company’s charter flight: departs Odzala at 9am, arrives Kabo at 9:40am (40 mins), landing at Kabo Airstrip

Road transfer to the boats where a 4 to 6-hour boat journey up the Sangha River begins and takes guests through the Sangha Tri National Special Reserve (clear customs en-route at Bayanga)

Arrive at Sangha Lodge nestled along the Sangha River for a relaxed afternoon at the lodge

Enjoy a delicious 3 course meal in the dining room.

OVERNIGHT: 4 nights Sangha Lodge (Fully Inclusive in River Room)

Breakfast at the lodge before a road transfer (±1.5 hours) and forest walk (2 km) to Dzanga Baï

Spend time on the research platform observing the diverse wildlife activity around the remote baï and enjoying a packed lunch

Return to Sangha Lodge with a forest walk and road transfer

Day notes

Guided morning forest walk and net hunting with members of the Ba’Aka community with time to work on the building of huts or learning about medicinal plants

Lunch in camp is followed by time with the pangolin researchers and protectors, and then sundowners followed by a night walk after dinner to explore the wonderful nocturnal life

Breakfast and boat transfer (15 mins) to the forest walk through the Valley of the Giants - spend the morning walking amongst some of the tallest trees in the Congo Basin and enjoy a packed lunch

Afternoon hike to the waterfalls (boat transfer) or return to camp for lunch and enjoy a guided forest walk during the afternoon
