Known locally as ‘The Smoke that Thunders’ this spectacle is accessible from both Zambia and Zimbabwe. Unlike other waterfalls, Victoria Falls has a natural catwalk across from the falls which provide for spectacular viewing.

The tour continues with a visit to the Chinotimba Township.

The word Chinotimba describes the roar of the water from the mighty Victoria Falls in the local Nambya language. The Nambya and the Tonga people are the original people of the Victoria Falls area. The majority of people in Victoria Falls live in the Chinotimba township, which has a population of approximately 60,000 people.

During the Township Tour, you will have an opportunity to observe township-life – from the oldest houses to the taverns, the local market, and churches. You may have a chance to visit the Chinotimba Primary School, subject to schools being open, for a tour of the school after which the children may sing a song.
