Day 1: Cape Town

Sun. 19 May 2024

As you step off the plane in Cape Town you will be met by your Live Africa representative and escorted directly through customs and immigration and to your awaiting transfer.

We have included one night in Cape Town as many of the international flights arrive in the evening and many guests tend to extend their time in Cape Town.  You have a $300 credit towards the hotel of your choice,  We will provide a list of alternative hotels that we recommend once you have signed up and confirmed your length of stay in Cape Town.

Because most of you will all be arriving at different times we have set this evening aside as one at leisure. If you would like to have something planned we are more than happy to discuss the options which will be on your own account.

The main activities start the next morning, so rest up and enjoy your evening in Cape Town.

At Cape Cadogan, you have the best of both worlds: a quiet, beautifully elegant hideaway with the vibrant neighbourhood of Kloof Street on your doorstep. This historic building (with National Monument status) dating back to the early 1800s, has undergone an extensive refurbishment in 2022. She is elegantly styled in beautiful emerald greens, classic black and white, and touches of gold. This sophisticated style brings her firmly into the 21st century, without losing any of her charm. Days 2 - 4: Franschhoek

Mon. 20 May 2024 - Wed. 22 May 2024

After breakfast you will be transferred by private vehicle and enjoy a leisurely drive to the Cape Winelands.

We have three nights and two full extraordinary days packed with unique experiences of meeting our personal local friends, winemakers, chefs, walking in the vineyards, tasting the incredible local flavors and learning from the local industry's top resources. All wineries we visit, restaurants and experiences have been hand picked personally to showcase the best of the cape Winelands. Our first evening will be spent having dinner at one of our favorite wineries.

Expert tips

La Cotte Farm is uniquely situated a stone’s throw from the charming village of Franschhoek. It offers close proximity to the fun and bustle of the main street with all the quiet, privacy and rural charm of a working wine farm.

Surrounded by lush vineyards, glorious mountains and unsurpassed views in all directions, the farm offers a range of accommodation options.

There won’t be any arguments about who should get the room with the view at La Cotte House. Wherever you choose to lay your suitcase, you’ll enjoy its 360-degree views of Franschhoek’s vineyard-studded valley and mountains.

It’s not until you’re relaxing al fresco on the terraces of either the Main House (sleeps 10), Pool House (daybed), or the Lake Cottage (sleeps 4), gazing out over your very own lakeside version of one of Monet’s famous ‘Water Lilies’ paintings, that you’ll fully appreciate the true magic of this unique setting. In prime position, deceptively far from distractions, on one of the oldest Huguenot estates in Franschhoek, (granted in 1694) this house was built for ultimate privacy. Surrounded by indigenous gardens and natural beauty as far as the eye can see, you’re actually only a short walk from the town hidden away below. It is a fully serviced house, booked on a self-catering basis or a private chef can be arranged at an additional cost.

Located on the forest edge of one of Franschhoek’s oldest farms, these lavishly simple cottages offer incredible views of the forest, vineyards and valleys. Booked together, they are the ideal setting for large family gatherings and celebrations, or individually for quiet getaways.
The row of deceptively rustic, terraced cottages is made up of five mezzanine cottages, two more spacious two-bedroom cottages and an intimate ‘Sunset’ cottage with its own plunge pool. All cottages have sun-drenched patios, open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas, that overlook an immense swimming pool with a vine-covered, pool-side pavilion. Beautifully decorated with a collection of watercolours, oil paintings, colourful Indian textiles and antique linen cushions, each cottage has its own unique sense of life, adventure and tranquillity.
