After your international journey, take time to unwind in the comfort of your hotel and enjoy a leisurely evening as anticipation builds for the adventure ahead. Your guide will provide a welcome briefing, introducing the remarkable experiences that await over the coming days as you journey deep into Uganda’s ancient rainforests.

Tomorrow, you’ll travel west through scenic countryside toward Kibale National Park, home to one of Africa’s highest concentrations of primates and the beginning of your unforgettable primate expedition.

Into Uganda’s Ancient Forests

After breakfast, leave the bustling capital behind and journey west through Uganda’s breathtaking countryside toward Kibale National Park. Rolling tea plantations, fertile farmland, traditional villages, and lush papyrus wetlands unfold along the way, offering a glimpse into the country’s rich landscapes and everyday life. As the distant peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains rise on the horizon, anticipation builds for the remarkable primate experiences that lie ahead.

Arrive at the beautiful crater lakes region surrounding Kibale National Park, where ancient volcanic activity has created a landscape of shimmering lakes, dense forests, and rolling hills. The journey may take several hours, but every step heightens the anticipation of one of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife encounters.

When you finally come face to face with a family of endangered mountain gorillas, time seems to stand still. As you travel through Uganda’s rolling hills, fertile farmlands, and vibrant rural communities, take time to reflect on the unforgettable experiences of the past several days—from trekking with playful chimpanzees in Kibale National Park to the once-in-a-lifetime privilege of standing among endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

Along the way, stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre to gain insight into the traditions and heritage of the Ankole and Bahima people, whose customs have helped shape western Uganda for generations. Later, pause at the Uganda Equator for a memorable photo opportunity, standing between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres before continuing toward Entebbe.
