Why Ol Jogi and what to expect.

• Uber-exclusive, 58,000-acre private conservancy in Laikipia, Kenya.
• Accommodates private groups of up to 20+ guests, year-round in the Main House Cottage Suites.
• Able to accommodate larger bookings for private groups of 20+ guests including special events (weddings, birthdays, family reunions, etc.) by adding our ‘Ol Jogi Under The Stars’ luxury tented camp.  This is set up adjacent to the Main House and available at any time of year.
• Minimum of 3-night stay requirement.  5 or 7 nights stay is recommended.  Minimum 4 or 6 guests depending on season, excluding Christmas and New Year’s (8 guests minimum and 5 night stay minimum).
• Exceptional security with 130 security personnel on site to safeguard our rhinos, elephants, and other wildlife.
• Endangered and Threatened Species including more than 80 of the world’s 860 remaining Eastern Black Rhinos.
• Home to nearly 20% of the world’s remaining Grevy’s Zebras; we work with Princeton University on their photo database of Kenya’s population and Manchester University on their study of stress hormones within Kenya’s population.
• Home to 375 of the world’s remaining Reticulated Giraffe; we work with Brown University on DNA metabarcoding to study the impact of elephants on the habitat and nutritional diversity of giraffe.
• State of the art Veterinary Clinic currently being used for a collaboration with the Smithsonian having two of their vets on site doing work and research.
• Big Five sightings (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), plus cheetah, wild dog, hyena, oryx, impala and eland, along with a diverse array of birdlife.
• Interaction with rescued elephants and orphaned rhinos at Wildlife Rescue Centre.
• Guided day and night game drives in comfortable open or closed vehicles.
• Guided walking safaris.

Public Areas

• The public areas comprise a large open lounge and dining room, and a separate bar, which overlook the water whole and have a full-on view of Mount Kenya
• There is a very large, ornate pool with palms and islands to give it an Oasis feel
•  Furnished deck, pool bar, spa with Moroccan Hamman, jacuzzi, gym, yoga mats
• An exciting hide which is reached by an underground passage which leads exactly to the edge of the water hole
• A " James Bond- style, hidden wine cellar, air conditioned, and which can be used for private parties
• Wifi is available throughout, and power and water are 24/7

Suites & Cottages; Ol Jogi can accommodate up to 26 persons, on an exclusive basis

• The top suites are the Simba suite and the Mbogo suite which are housed in a separate, very large circular unit.
• They are joined by a large central lounge area and have a common main entrance, although each has a separate entrance from the main bedroom, from where you can stroll across the lawns to the public areas
• Each suite has an air- conditioned main bedroom with panoramic views of the water hole and mountain, a king bed and various comfortable furniture in a living area
• Each has a second larger bedroom with twin beds, library and sofas, which would be most suitable for children
• Each suite has 2 bathrooms 
• One with a sunken bath tub/ jacuzzi, and his and hers, w.c. and bidet
• The other has walk in shower, his and hers and w.c. and bidet
• Massive and opulent dressing and wardrobe areas. Can anyone need so much space?

 For 35 years Ol Jogi has operated as a private conservation sanctuary.  We currently host 6% of the world’s remaining Eastern Black Rhino and 15% of the world’s remaining Grevy’s Zebra plus significant populations of all of the "Big Five" amongst several other endangered species.

 While staying at Ol Jogi, you are actively partaking in preserving nature and wildlife.

All revenues earned by having you as our guest will be 100% reinvested into our conservation efforts.  While staying with us, you will not only have a great experience, but will also be actively partaking in a project that has global importance, that of the conservation and preservation of a multitude of endangered species for our future generations. 

 At Ol Jogi, you have the opportunity to get unusually close to wild animals through a variety of different and unique experiences.

One such way is from within the house itself.  Day or night, you can enter a secret underground tunnel to literally bring you to the feet of giraffes, elephants, hippos and many other species that enjoy coming up to the watering hole. Imagine standing so close to these creatures that you can hear them breathing.  In addition, because of the rescue and release services that Ol Jogi offers to wildlife, guests will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with several species of wildlife at our Wildlife Rescue Centre. Elephants rescued from Zimbabwe, cheetahs brought to us as orphans, a blind rhino, a lion rescued by our local communities and much more.  Whilst in our care, you will be able to approach them in a way that would never be possible in the wild.

 At Ol Jogi, you are personally guided by Conservation Managers

The  guides are not only trained professionals in guiding but their primary mandate within Ol Jogi is managing our conservation initiatives.  Therefore, as our guest, you will not only be ‘guided’ on walks, drives and other bush experiences but you will also have first hand knowledge which gives you a unique “behind the scenes” perspective on what it takes to manage a conservation landscape and wildlife conservancy in Africa.

Ol Jogi’s home was never designed to be a tourist destination.

 The art and antiques that fill the house are items that could never be found in a hotel.  The result of decades of personally collecting and building the perfect home, the comfort and attention to detail is something you will never forget or experience elsewhere.  Ol Jogi’s pool and spa offer the perfect contrast to a day of adventure in the bush.  With a masseuse that is on call at any hour, a pool with its own island, a cedar wood sauna, a traditional steam room, a yoga room, a workout room, a jacuzzi … all this is waiting for you every day when you return from the wild.  The luxury and comfort of the house is contrasted with the endless nature, blending these two opposites in a very unique manner.

Ol Jogi is a perfect base from which to discover the many treasures of Northern Kenya.  Why spend wasted time and unnecessary upheaval on a ‘safari circuit’ when at Ol Jogi, not only do you experience a personal, luxurious and totally unique safari, but due to its location.  You have the possibility to have a helicopter based for you at Ol Jogi whereby within less than an hour’s flight you can be on top of the glaciers of Mt. Kenya, and in the opposite direction you will find the sand dunes and volcanoes of the Great Rift Valley.  Perhaps a flight to see the tallest waterfall in Kenya or a birds eye view of the largest population of pink flamingos in the world?  For the adventurous, the possibilities for exploration are endless, and a return to the comfort of Ol Jogi each evening only ends each action packed day perfectly.

Typical Days 

• Morning : Safari game drives / Bush walks   and during stay morning visit for Pyramid side of conservancy.  Canyon Walk. Visit to Elephants and Rhino Bomas interaction.  ( Usually given  as a surprise!)
• Or  Helicopter Excursion ( See prices and options to decide as we need to confirm this soon due to lack of helicopters 
• Lunch:  Veranda / BBQ's / Bush Site locations
• Afternoon:  Combination of safari game drives / Bush walks  / Enjoying House Amenities / Dog  Demonstration / Canine Units Anti-Poaching / Ranger Demo /  Visit to Claire Jones Goats and afternoon tea . Great for the family to see how local goats looked after and milked. Other families that we have arranged this for loved this experience. 
• Dinner:  Veranda or other special locations to be decided by your management team, or in consultation on site.
