Day 1: Windhoek

Route:                                 Windhoek Hosea Kutako International airport - City

Distance:                           48 km

Journey:  on arrival at Windhoek International airport you will be met and transferred to your overnight accommodation in the City.   

Day 2: Waterberg Plateau National Park

Route:                          Windhoek to Waterberg Resort

Distance:                    310 km

Journey:  leaving Windhoek  travel via the town of Okahandja, founded around 1800 by two local groups, the Herero and the Nama it is known as the Garden town of Namibia.  Waterberg National Park lies south east of Otjiwarongo town.  Some great walks in the area, or take part in a guided nature drive to the top of the plateau.

Day 3: Etosha East

Route:                          Waterberg Resort to  Mokuti Etosha Lodge

Distance:                   315 km

Journey:  Continue northwards via the town of Otjiwarongo, the next stop being the mining town of Tsumeb.  Aim to arrive early afternoon so that you have time to check in and do a late afternoon game drive into Etosha National Park (on own or optional guided with the lodge).

Day 4: Etosha East

Route:                          Mokuti Etosha Lodge

Etosha National Park game drives can be done:

- as a self-drive in own vehicle

- the Lodge offers morning and afternoon guided game drives

Day 5: Etosha South

Route:                          Mokuti Etosha Lodge - Okaukuejo Resort

Distance:                   game drive in own vehicle

Journey:  Up at dawn,  be at the Von Lindequist Gate for sunrise which is when the entrance gates open, one of the best times for game viewing is the cooler morning hours and late afternoon.  Make use of today on an extensive game drive in search of black and white rhino, elephants, lion, cheetah and the numerous species of plains game.  The drive will give you an overview of the National Park including its birdlife, flora and geology.  Stop at Halali, the most central of the resorts to stretch legs and have lunch before carrying on to Okaukuejo Resort.

Day 6: Otjiwarongo

Route:                          Okaukuejo Resort - Mount Etjo Safari Lodge

Distance:                   245 km

Journey:  Short game drive as you exit the National Park, travel to Outjo where a stop should be made at the bakery!  Your destination today is located in the heart of the Okonjati Game Reserve and one of the first private Game Reserves established in Namibia.
