The waterhole, just meters from The Hide, attracts such a variety of life that you may not need to roam far from your veranda to be a part of the action. Accommodation at the Hide consists of 10 Deluxe Tents and  a Private  Safari  House. All boasting en-suite bathrooms and private verandas overlooking the busy waterhole. There is a swimming pool, lounge, bar, upstairs viewing deck, mini museum, 2 underground  hides,  an underground wine cellar and a complimentary treehouse sleep out. Wi-Fiis available.

At 3:30pm you will meet for tea-time at the Main A frame/ The Private Hide and soon after jump on your afternoon game drive in in search of predators and prey alike. We like to do things properly, so sundowners are an important part of the experience. Hwange National Park is the largest park  in Zimbabwe, famous for its healthy elephant population.  The beauty of this area is in its diversity –vast, palm-fringed plains and classic grasslands are interspersed with acacia woodlands and teak forests and this diversity ensures the sighting of great numbers of animals all year round. Remember to grab your checklist from your rooms to tick off all the animals and birds you see.

On your return, Dinner is served at about 8.00pm. After dinner, guests have the opportunity of going on a night drive lasting 30 minutes to an hour on which red filtered spotlight's  are used to show up the nocturnal animals such as bat-eared fox, as well as lion, leopard and hyena. Expert tips

Your day begins with the sound of birds chirping, the crisp smell of dew on the grass, and a gentle knock on the door with a delivery of your choice of tea, coffee or fruit juice. Once you are ready, you can join the rest of The Hide guests from 5.30am in the dining room for an early morning continental breakfast before setting out on your chosen activity. Activity options are game drives and game walks offered together or separately, either on our private concession or in the National Park. We go all out to cater for each guest preferences. Refreshments are always served at each activity. Walks on the Concession or in the Park with our Professional Guides is an excellent opportunity to learn about the bush and its flora and fauna in general. A large variety of animals can be encountered on these walks, the Professional Guides are trained to an extremely high standard in Zimbabwe and regardless of the amount of game seen, these walks are made into a memorable and informative occasion. Walks here are always exciting!

Once you return from your morning activity, a delightful luncheon will be served, followed by a well-deserved afternoon siesta in the comfort of your tent or simply spending some time relaxing in our lounge, or upstairs in our viewing deck which overlooks the waterhole observing game coming down to drink at the waterhole or they may wish to relax in our comfortable underground game-viewing Hides . These are situated at the edge of the camp’s waterhole, ensuring that this is a photographer’s paradise. The newest underground hide extends from camp to the edge of the waterhole, it is accessed through an underground tunnel, guests can safely use it at any time of the day or night, it seats up to 8 guests and it has proved to be extremely popular as the wildlife can be viewed at a very close range. Guests re-group again at about 3.30pm for tea. Afternoon drives follow, walks can also be arranged or else just relax on your veranda and watch the wildlife come down to the waterhole for their evening drink. Most afternoon activities will end with sundowners on the concession.. Tonight we have something special lined up for you: Either sundowners or dinner at our Doves Nest.

Although the luxuries of your tent may keep you there, if you are up for an exhilarating and unforgettable experience we recommend spending the night in The Dove’s Nest, where you can truly experience real Africa at its finest. It is located 10 minutes drive from camp and upon arrival you will be given a safety briefing, supplied with a radio for your peace of mind and left to enjoy your beautiful private retreat for the night.
