Today, you will fly from Nairobi to Samburu Game Reserve.In the southern part of the park you are guaranteed to see most of the animals found in Samburu, namely: cheetahs, lions, leopards, impalas, buffaloes, hippos and dikdiks as well as the indigenous gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe and beisa oryx.
Most animals are guaranteed to be seen in the dry season when they congregate at the Ewaso Nyiro River, their main source of water during the long dry season.Elephants are also spotted during this time and you can watch the Nile crocodiles swimming in the river. The Samburu National Reserve is a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 380 bird species having been recorded here. You can observe a colorful selection of birds such as vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowls, Somali ostriches and many more.
