Day notes
Upon arrival in Botswana[Airlink 4Z300 @13h40], after clearing immigration and customs you will be greeted by a Desert & Delta/Safari Air representative holding a signboard with your name on it. They will assist you with your luggage, having it scanned and directing you through security to your light aircraft flight to your lodge.
Please note your flight may drop off and pick up other guests on the way.
All travelers will be required to undergo a free COVID-19 rapid test to gain entry into Botswana. If the test is positive or you show COVID-19 symptoms, you may need to undergo 14 days isolation or quarantine at your own expense.
Upon arrival at your lodge airstrip, you will be met and taken to the lodge to settle in. A light meal will likely be available before your afternoon activity.
Spend your days on morning and afternoon boat trips, mokoro excursions, and walks - this is a water-based camp and no game drives are available but at all the other camps that will be your focus.

Travellers arriving in Botswana will need to meet the following:
•Present a valid 72-hour negative COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) result from the time of testing.
•All travellers will be required to undergo a cost-free COVID-19 rapid test to gain entry into Botswana. If the test is positive or you show COVID-19 symptoms, you may need to undergo 14 days isolation or quarantine at your own expense.
•Travellers not meeting the above requirements will not be allowed entry into Botswana.
•For all Safari Air flights departing Maun or Kasane destined to our lodges, a valid 72-hour negative COVID-19 PCR certificate OR a valid 72-hour negative RAPID Antigen test is required to board the flight into the camps.
•Guests arriving at Chobe Game Lodge or any other Desert & Delta Safaris camp using a third party service (self-drive, charter flight, road transfer), a valid 72-hour negative COVID-19 PCR certificate OR a valid 72-hour negative RAPID Antigen test is required on check-in

After your morning activity and breakfast, you will return to the airstrip to fly from the Okavango up to Savute - a completely different, dry environment. You will again be met and taken to the lodge to settle in, have lunch and be ready for your afternoon game drive.
The exact time of your flight [and all your lodge flights] is not known until the day before, you will be informed the previous day what time so that you can plan the next morning.
Most activities here are game drives in the early morning and afternoon, and you can walk up to the bushman rock art site overlooking the Savute Channel.

Pom-Pom Camp makes use of a guide and tracker. The tracker assists the guide in spotting animals, looking for signs of where animals may have gone and listening out for lues while the ranger remains the primary communicator and controls the game drive.

Your final destination is the Central Kalahari, completely different to all your other destinations - ancient, rolling valleys are covered in short grass - especially if it has rained, attracting grazers to these areas - along with predators. Cheetah are present and of course black-maned lions.
Also at Tau Pan, you will likely have a 'tracker' who is of bushmen descent - and their knowledge is still incredible - take a walk with them to discover how they lived in the desert for centuries; hunting, gathering food and finding water - a real treat.

During your stay at Tau Pan, lodge management will let you know when your Covid test/sample will be taken.
At Tau Pan they also use a guide with a tracker, who is usually of Bushmen descent and has inside knowledge of the land and wildlife.
