Day notes

Arrive Victoria Falls Airport in Zimbabwe and transfer to our lodge, Shongwe Oasis.

Situated only 2 kilometres from the majestic Victoria Falls, Oasis is exactly what the name suggests; a haven of relaxation in the heart of our beautiful town.  The newly-opened sister lodge to the award-winning Shongwe Lookout, Oasis is an adults-only retreat complete with an on-site spa, jacuzzi, sit-in infinity pool, and a restaurant and bar area. Shongwe Oasis is a proud member of Africa’s Eden, a not-for-profit collaborative company comprised of 400 members across Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Together, we work towards promoting our region, and supporting local charities, conservation organisations, and small, local businesses on the periphery of tourism.

Day notes

This morning we depart at 10:30 for Hwange.  Firstly we will drive to the Dete Railway siding, there we will board the "Elephant Express". 

The Elephant Express is a unique railcar, designed to offer an unforgettable experience while transferring to and from our camp in southern Hwange. With seating at teak tables, a spacious aisle allowing for movement for viewing and photographs.  There is even a loo on board.  Refreshments are served during the three-hour journey, including a light lunch on the afternoon southbound trip. Sit back, relax, and enjoy great game viewing and a whole load of fun!

Bomani Tented Camp is nestled in a private concession on the splendid Ngamo Plains, legendary for unique scenery and impressive year-round game viewing with a great diversity of wildlife in substantial numbers.

Enjoy an open-air thatched main lodge, tented accommodations, teak viewing decks, a prolific waterhole, splash pool, and evenings around the fire—this is living on the plains.

Day notes

Today we transfer to Nehimba Safari Lodge.

Remotely nestled within a massive private concession in the northern part of Hwange National Park, Nehimba Lodge combines comfort, elegance, and African charm for an exceptional safari experience.

The main guest area and spacious canvas-under-thatch tents are built on teak decks overlooking a productive waterhole, which is frequented by large numbers of elephants. No two days are the same—all experiences are tailor-made and include game drives, walking safaris, and night game drives on the private concession. Set off to find the famous elephant hunting lions, or just sit back and enjoy an armchair safari.

Day notes

We return to Victoria Falls by Mack Air and head back to Shongwe Oasis.
