It's about an 18-minute walk from the hotel, turning left into Boulevard Rene Levesque E, go straight across the roundabout onto Avenue Honoré-Mercier N (1st exit). Pass Esplanade Park on your right, keep going until you reach Rue Cook, turn right & keep going until Rue Cook becomes Rue Sainte-Anne, then turn left into Rue du Tresor, right into Rue de Buade. Notre Dame de Quebec Basilica Cathedral is located here, well worth a visit.
Continue on to turn left onto Rue Port Dauphin & walk around the Musee du Fort on Cote de la Montagne, until you get to Escalier Casse-Cou (which means Break Neck steps), the city's oldest staircase. From there, a slight right turn will take you onto Rue du Petit Champlain. The Funiculaire du Vieux-Quebec will be on your right - it dates back to 1879. Keep walking until you pass Parc Felix-Leclerc on your right. Quartier Petit Champlain is straight ahead.
