Start your day with a hearty New York breakfast before you check out of the hotel.

Embark on a tour of the Big Apple: view the Empire State Building, Times Square & Central Park.

Journey on to Philadelphia to visit the Liberty Bell Center. View Independence Hall, site of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. For lunch, try a local specialty: the infamous Philly Steak.

Travel on to Washington D.C. Dinner with the tour group will be a classic American meal at Clyde's of Gallery Place.

Enjoy your afternoon at leisure. Late afternoon, we visit The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts & enjoy sunset views over the river.

After breakfast, you'll travel from Washington into Lancaster County. The coach journey is about 2.5hrs long. Stopover at local craft village for lunch, ice cream & some quilt shopping. Another stop for photos as we pass through the wonderfully-named town of Intercourse.

Join a Local Specialist in rural Pennsylvania to delve into the culture of the local Amish community. You'll visit an Amish farm & view a typical school house.

The Inn at Leola Village, your Stay with a Story, was built in 1873 in the heart of Amish Country. Enjoy a hearty Regional Meal & learn to make Whoopie pies for dessert.

After breakfast, depart the hotel for Niagara - en route you'll witness first-hand the delicate craft of glassblowing at the Corning Museum of Glass. Cross the Canadian border to Niagara Falls & spend the rest of the day at leisure. This is about a 6-hour coach journey.

Dinner for your own account. Keep an eye out for the spectacular fireworks display that takes place every night over the Falls.

After breakfast, embark on an exhilarating boat ride to the base of Horseshoe Falls. You have some time to spend at leisure before we depart from the hotel for our dinner venue.

Drive along the Niagara river to the charming, historic town of Niagara-on-the-Lake for a stroll & some photo opportunities. Continue on towards the wine-growing region until we reach the family-owned winery where you will enjoy a Connect with Locals highlight & Be My Guest Dinner. A private wine-tasting has been arranged for you prior to dinner.

Following breakfast, depart Niagara Falls & skirt the shores of Lake Ontario bound for Toronto, passing the Thousand Islands. Upon arrival in Toronto, you'll be treated to an orientation tour of this truly multicultural city, then spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Following breakfast, journey on to Ottawa. There's lunch stopover in the lovely town of Kingston, named for British King George III. Upon arrival in Canada's capital city, you'll embark on an introductory tour which includes views of the elegant Gothic buildings of Parliament Hill, Rideau Hall, the residence of the Governor General of Canada & the beautiful downtown galleries, museums & parks.

Spend the rest of the day at your leisure; dinner for your account.

A few spots worth visiting today:

• Rideau Canal Locks 1-8 (an interesting 9 minute walk from the hotel) & perhaps a canal cruise?
• Fairmont Chateau Laurier has a restaurant called La Terrasse with its spectacular views of the Parliament Buildings, the rolling Gatineau Hills & the Ottawa River
• Take a pleasant walk across the Rideau River via Alexandra Bridge to Gatineau

Following breakfast, before you depart Ottawa, we'll take another drive through the city for a few more photo opportunities in the morning sunshine - the Canadian Museum of History has fabulous views over the river.

The journey to Quebec City will take about 4.5 hours excluding stops. Immerse yourself in the joie de vivre & romantic 17th century facades of Quebec City & the UNESCO-listed Old Quebec, but first: we stop for lunch at a local cabane a sucre (sugar shack) & a maple candy-making demonstration.

After breakfast, depart Quebec City for Montreal. Savour the good life as you arrive in Montreal where a Local Specialist will introduce you to such sites as Notre-Dame Basilica, the colourful port area & Place Jacques-Cartier.

This evening, we'll enjoy an authentic Regional Meal. Bon Appetit!

After breakfast, depart Montreal for Boston. Return to the US & traverse New Hampshire bound for Franconia Notch, in the heart of the White Mountains. The Omni Parker Hotel, your Boston Stay with Story, was a frequent haunt of powerful politicians & famous writers; also the place where JFK proposed to Jackie!

The rest of the day is at your leisure. Take a walk along the Freedom Trail, which starts close to the hotel, perhaps use the time to do some shopping & have your own Boston tea party.. Boston is known for good lobster meals - your Tour Director will have some recommendations of where to go.

Remember, you've arrived back in the States in time for Independence Day celebrations - keep an eye & ear out for fireworks near the harbour.
