Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant's gazelle. Golden-maned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while a high density of cheetahs prowl the southeastern plains. Morning game drive. Depart for Arusha by light aircraft, flying over the Ngorongoro Crater and great rift valley. The flight might make one or more intermediary stops to pick up or drop other passengers. Arrive at the Arusha Coffee Lodge where you will enjoy a meal in the lush green gardens.
