ZAFIRO LOW WATER SEASON 4DAYS/3 NIGHTS

You’ll be picked up at the airport and taken to the DoubleTree by Hilton Iquitos hotel for lunch. After that, a private vehicle will transfer you to Nauta to board the cruise ship.  Before setting sail, enjoy a cocktail made with local fruit and pisco. Once you’re underway, our naturalist guides will provide an overview of your itinerary, including activities and wildlife information. You’ll then enjoy a welcome dinner featuring Peruvian cuisine and selected wines. After dinner, admire the starry night sky as you embark on your journey into the Amazon rainforest.

After breakfast, you’ll take a walk through Yucuruchi along the Ucayali River in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, where you can spot various native animal species. Before midday, you'll return to the boat for a cooking demonstration by the executive chef. After lunch, there will be a talk about the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve for those interested. In the afternoon, you can choose to go kayaking and swimming in the river or join an expedition on the skiff to Bagazan Lake. Before dinner, enjoy live music from the boat’s band, featuring a mix of Amazonian, national, and international tunes. Later, you’ll head out on the Ucayali River at night to search for caimans, lizards, and other nocturnal wildlife.

Before breakfast, you’ll explore the Yarapa River, where you might spot the famous pink and gray river dolphins swimming in the black waters. Afterward, you’ll return to the boat for breakfast before visiting the community of Vista Alegre. With your guides as interpreters, you’ll learn about local customs and visit their butterfly park.After lunch, you’ll take a skiff out on the Amazon River to enjoy the stunning colors of the sunset. Once back on the Zafiro, you’ll have some time to relax and listen to live music before a crew presentation and your farewell dinner.

After breakfast, you’ll begin disembarking and head to the airport, stopping at the Amazon Rescue Center (CREA). Here, biologists and volunteers care for rescued manatees, an endangered species, and you’ll learn how they prepare them for reinsertion into the wild. You’ll also see other animals rescued from attempts to keep them as pets or from dangerous situations. After your visit, you’ll be transferred to the airport.
