Day notes

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will be met by one of our team who will transfer you to your accommodation for the night — a journey of between 30-minutes and an hour depending on traffic. If you have time free this afternoon and wish to sightsee, we can offer a range of activities around Arusha — ask us for details. Otherwise, simply relax in the pretty gardens and recover from your international flights before your safari begins tomorrow.

Day notes

You will fly throughout this itinerary rather than drive — so today you will be driven to Arusha airport for your short light aircraft flight to Kuro airstrip in Tarangire (20-minute flight, 15 kilogram luggage limit per person in soft bags). A guide from Chem Chem will meet you here and game drive you through the park and across into the conservancy where Chem C hem i s based in a wilderness all of its own. The afternoon activity is yours to choose from at the time — perhaps sundowners on the shore of Lake Manyara as a gentle introduction to this beautiful area.

Located on a conservancy east of Lake Manyara and west of Tarangire, this luxurious small camp offers a stylish base for safari or relaxation. There are eight tented suites with special touches such as bathtub and outdoor sala and the main camp features a swimming pool, spa, gym and viewing deck overlooking a waterhole.

Day notes

Depart with a guide from Chem Chem who will drive you up to the Manyara airstrip, where you’ll change drivers and vehicles, travelling onward with a guide from &Beyond’s
Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, your base for the next two nights. It’s approximately an hour and a half’s drive to the lodge, and you can settle in and enjoy the spectacular views over the crater from your suite, and an evening of fine dining in this iconic property.

Enjoy game drives in the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Ngorongoro Crater on the second day. This dormant volcano provides a natural sanctuary for a wonderful diversity of wildlife, including black rhino, lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard and more. Typically you will spend the morning exploring with your guide, have a picnic lunch and then depart in the mid-afternoon to your lodge to relax for the remainder of the day. (Note: game drives are on a shared basis from Ngorongoro Crater Lodge)

Day notes

You will be driven to the Manyara airstrip, an hour and a half’s drive away, to catch your light aircraft flight to the Singita Grumeti Reserves on the western border of the Serengeti (15 kilogram luggage limit per person in soft bags), approximately 1 hour away. Arrive in time for lunch and rest or have a swim in the pool during the heat of the day before going out on an afternoon safari activity.

Enjoying all of the wildlife of the Serengeti but all of the privacy of a private game reserve, Faru Faru is one of only four lodges, all run by Singita, who are renowned for excellence in service, guiding and style and a strong conservation focus. Faru Faru has just eight tented suites, styled with a mix of African and Scandinavian touches, as well as a spa, swimming pool and unique activities on offer including horse riding safaris.

Enjoy game viewing with the expert guides exploring the Singita Grumeti Reserves. Activities are shared with other guests but there is a wide variety to choose from: game drives, walking safaris, visits to the anti-poaching observation post and community visits.

After breakfast in camp, you will be driven to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha, a flight of approximately 3 hours depending on the number of stops made along the way to drop off/pick up passengers (15 kilogram luggage limit per person in soft bags). You’ll land into the international airport and can
check-in for your international flight home.
