ZBS1: Victoria Falls, Chobe, Okavango & Cape Town - 9 nights Comfort

Day 1: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Fly on a mid-morning flight from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls or Livingstone (approx. 2 hour flight). Upon arrival you will be met by a driver who will take you to your chosen hotel. The rest of the afternoon is spent at your own leisure.

Day 2: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Breakfast at your chosen hotel. In the morning you will be collected from your hotel for a tour of the majestic Victoria Falls, “Mosi-oa-Tunya” – “the Smoke that Thunders”, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The tour takes you through the rain forest to the numerous view sites along the edge of these remarkable falls.

After the tour, enjoy time at leisure until you are collected in the afternoon for a Sundowner boat cruise on the mighty Zambezi River. If you are lucky you may spot elephant, crocodiles and hippos along the cruise.

Day 3: Chobe River Front

After breakfast and checkout you will be collected and transferred to Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River. The transfer is approximately 75 km and the travelling time may vary as you have to cross the border in to Botswana. Lunch is served on arrival.

Afternoon activity: Either a boat cruise on the Chobe River or a game drive in the Chobe Game Reserve will be offered. Game viewing by boat gives one the chance to get close to some of the water based animals such as crocodiles and hippopotamus as well as elephants that frequent the river. Dinner at your lodge.

Day 4: Chobe River Front

Early morning activity: Venture out in to the wilderness that is the Chobe Game Reserve.

The Chobe National Park, which is the second largest national park in Botswana and covers 10,566 km2, has one of the greatest concentrations of game found on the African continent. It is however most famous for the large herds of elephant that inhabit the park.

Breakfast is served upon your return to the lodge. After a few hours relaxing by the pool or in your room it is time for high tea followed by your afternoon activity - boat cruise or game drive. Dinner at your lodge.

Day 5: Okavango Delta

Early morning activity followed by breakfast and checkout. You will be transferred to Kasane Airport for your flight in a light aircraft to your camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Arrive in time for lunch.

The Okavango Delta is one of the world’s largest inland water systems. Its headwaters start in Angola’s western highlands, with numerous tributaries joining to form the Cubango River, which then flows through Namibia (called the Kavango) and finally enters Botswana, where it is then called the Okavango. The delta environment has large numbers of animal populations that are otherwise rare, such as crocodile, red lechwe, sitatunga, elephant, wild dogs, buffalo, wattled crane as well as the other more common mammals and bird life.

Afternoon activity: Safari activities by water are the primary speciality of the Okavango - the mokoro. a dugout canoe which is 'poled' along by your Guide, is the most evocative way of exploring the numerous waterways. Motor launches travel on the main waterways and lagoons. Enjoy a dinner under the African sky.

Day 6: Okavango Delta

Early morning safari activity followed by breakfast. After a few hours relaxing in the shade or by the pool it is time for high tea followed by your afternoon activity - boat cruise or nature walk. Dinner at the lodge.

Day 7: Cape Town

Early morning activity (time permitting) followed by breakfast and checkout. Enjoy a short flight to Maun airport in a light aircraft where you will await the departure of your onward bound direct flight to Cape Town – the Mother City!

On arrival at Cape Town Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon you will join other passengers on an afternoon city tour which includes the Table Mountain (weather permitting and cable car at own cost), the historic city centre as well as a drive to Bloubergstrand just north of the city centre, where you are afforded wonderful views back towards Cape Town and Table Mountain. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 8: Cape Town

Breakfast at your hotel. You will be collected from your hotel for a full day Cape Point tour with an English-speaking guide and other guests. This tour takes you past Hout Bay, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy a boat cruise to a seal colony, aptly called Seal Island (at additional cost).

From Hout Bay the tour continues along the spectacular Chapman's Peak Drive and further towards Kommetjie and Scarborough, until you enter the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Here at Cape Point you can witness the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Heading back you first stop at Boulder's Beach, most famous for its penguin colony (entrance not included) and then on to have lunch at a seafood restaurant (lunch at own cost). We finish the afternoon with a visit at the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Day 9: Cape Town

Breakfast at your hotel and day at leisure. Suggested activities - visit the V&A Waterfront with its many shops, restaurants and pubs. It is also the departure point for boat trips to Robben Island, the island most famous for being a prison island and its most famous prisoner Nelson Mandela, who spent most of his 27 years in jail here. Today the place is a World Heritage Site and a museum. It is advisable to pre-book your tour to Robben Island - speak to your hotel’s concierge or travel desk on arrival to book the trip for you.

Also well worth a visit at the V&A Waterfront is the Two Oceans Aquarium which has received great recognition as being one of the best aquariums in the world.

Day 10: End of Itinerary

Breakfast at your hotel followed by checkout.
