Day 2: The Wild Coast

Sat. 26 Sep 2026

After an optional activity morning, we depart from Chintsa and journey along the scenic Wild Coast towards Lubanzi Village.

Lubanzi is a tiny, remote Xhosa village where time seems to slow to the rhythm of the ocean. Here, the tar road gives way to rolling green hills, wandering cattle paths, and endless horizons. It is a place where the sea meets dramatic cliffs, where children’s laughter carries on the wind, and where traditional rondavels dot the landscape in quiet harmony with nature.

On arrival, the rest of the afternoon is yours to immerse yourself in this untouched paradise. Wander along deserted beaches where your footprints may be the only ones in the sand. Greet friendly locals, or simply sit back and absorb the stillness as waves crash below and the sun begins its slow descent.

As evening approaches, the sky transforms into a canvas of fiery oranges and soft pinks, and the simple magic of Lubanzi reveals itself — raw, authentic, and beautifully unspoilt.

Day 3: Coffee Bay

Sun. 27 Sep 2026

After a leisurely start to the day, we set off on foot along the dramatic Wild Coast, heading toward one of the region’s most iconic natural landmarks – the legendary Hole in the Wall.

The hike winds along rugged cliffs, rolling green hills, and sweeping beaches, with uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean stretching endlessly to the horizon.

As we approach, the striking rock formation rises from the sea, sculpted by centuries of wind and waves. Watching the ocean surge through the natural arch is a powerful reminder of nature’s raw beauty, and the panoramic coastal views here are nothing short of spectacular.

From here, we continue our hike toward Coffee Bay, following cattle tracks and coastal paths that offer ever-changing scenery – from secluded coves to open grasslands dotted with traditional rondavels. The pace is relaxed, allowing time to soak in the surroundings, capture photographs, and appreciate the peaceful rhythm of life along this untouched coastline.

Upon arrival at our overnight accommodation, we settle in and unwind before receiving a warm and heartfelt welcome from members of the local village community. Their hospitality reflects the true spirit of the Wild Coast – genuine, generous, and proudly rooted in tradition.

Tonight, we enjoy a hearty South African dinner, filled with comforting local flavours and freshly prepared dishes. As the evening sets in, we gather around a crackling fire under a vast, star-filled sky.

Stories are shared, laughter carries into the night, and for those feeling competitive, a lively game of pool awaits — with bragging rights firmly on the line.

Day 4: The Wild Coast

Mon. 28 Sep 2026

After breakfast we head out early for a hike to Mdumbi, through the villages and parallel to the beautifully ferocious coastline.

Use your newly learnt ‘Xhosa’ skills and greet passersby with a smile.

Take photos of the ever-so secluded ‘Mapuzi’ beach and enjoy getting your feet wet in the crystal clear river then follow your guide towards the Mapuzi cliffs.

Experience a natural Jacuzzi hidden within the caverns of these cliffs. Live a little differently- go cliff jumping or simply chill out and soak up the beauty of this unique area.

After trekking a little further we will reach our next destination, Mdumbi. Sporting a long and pristine beach, once voted the most beautiful beach in South Africa, you can cool off in the Indian Ocean, sunbathe, go for a surf lesson or chill-out for the rest of the afternoon.
