On arrival after the immigration process and claiming your luggage your designated chauffeur guide will take you through to the exit and will escort you to the vehicle. You will then be transferred to Minuwangoda.

The boat takes you up the canal into the Negombo lagoon and wetlands, where it winds through avenues of mangroves and lush islands. Macaques (the only monkey species in Sri Lanka able to swim) live in the trees, water monitors scale the surface of the water like crocodiles and bird life ranges from Kingfishers and jet-black cormorants to kites, herons and terns all of whom dive in and out of the water to feed. The lagoon itself is a breeding ground for large prawns and mud crabs which live on the mangrove beds. Your guide will point out the different wildlife throughout your cruise and will be happy to stop the boat at any point to let you take pictures.

Recording a vast number of Sri Lankan Leopards - smarter looking than its Indian cousin - Wilpattu National Park has been named due to 'Willus' (Natural Lakes) studded throughout the park. Apart from big cats & precious flora, the park is well known for a healthy population of elephant, sloth bear, spotted deer, mongoose and water buffalo. Do not be surprised if the squeal of a helpless wild boar pierce through your ears, just observe closer and you might be presented with a fantastic hunt because it is all action that speaks at Wilpattu.

A moat, rampart, extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock and the frescoes of the 'Heavenly Maidens' of Sigiriya.
Note: Please note that to reach the top of Sigiriya Rock, there are nearly 1,200 stone steps up and then down. Anybody in reasonably good condition will be able to venture to the top of Sigiriya Rock and it's certainly worth the effort.
