Golf at Steenberg
This morning you enjoy a round of golf at Steenberg.
Surrounded by vineyards, Steenberg Golf Course is a parkland course in the verdant Constantia Winelands valley with extensive mountain and forest views. Designed by well known South African golf architect, Peter Matkovich, Steenberg offers some testing and varied golf with tee boxes amongst the vineyards, much use of water, and natural sand banks in the heathland.
In the afternoon you are at leisure to enjoy some of the sights of Cape Town. We recommend the cable car ride up to the top of Table Mountain for a breathtaking view of the Mother City (weather permitting). Afterwards you may like to visit the historic sights of the city such as the Company Gardens, the SA Museum and the fascinating Cape Malay Quarter.

Golf at Clovelly
This morning you enjoy 18 holes at the challenging Clovelly golf course. Clovelly Golf Course is scenically one of the best courses on the Cape Peninsula as it is more varied than many of the parkland courses. The lovely colonial clubhouse enjoys a slightly elevated position above the course which takes full advantage of its coastal setting with deep sand dunes encroaching upon the fairways.
Clovelly is known for its rolling fairways, undulating holes and magnificent landscaping. Wind also plays a significant factor at Clovelly! A relatively quiet course, Clovelly is a tight par 72 with a testing mix of interesting holes and elevated greens accompanied by beautiful views of Silvermine River and lakes. Sand dunes abound the course, which has natural water features and a wide variety of indigenous fauna and flora, notably the variety of trees lining the fairways.
Another plus point is that you can combine an early round of golf at Clovelly with a visit to the Cape of Good Hope in the Cape Point National Park. Sir Francis Drake, the famous explorer, once called it “the fairest Cape that we saw in the whole circumference of the Globe.” You return along the Indian Ocean coastal road where you can stop to visit the unique penguin colonies at Boulders beach and drive through the naval base of Simonstown.

Travel to the Whale Coast,
This morning you travel to the Whale Coast for 2 nights at Arabella Hotel & Spa near Hermanus. We recommend spending the day in the Winelands perhaps visiting a couple of wine estates before taking the scenic road towards the cosmopolitan village of Hermanus.
Hermanus boasts some of the finest land-based whale-watching in the world from August to November, as well as spectacular mountain scenery and lovely sandy beaches for swimming and surfing.

Golf at Arabella
This morning you enjoy a round of golf at Arabella. The Arabella Country Club overlooks the Kogelberg Nature Reserve, a mass of over 1,200 species of wild flowers and fynbos. The sweeping grandeur of the mountains and lagoon backdrop, complements this 18-hole championship course, designed by the exemplary golf architect Peter Matkovich.
Bordering the largest natural lagoon in South Africa, the Bot River Lagoon, with the 9th, 17th, and 18th holes running parallel to the water, Arabella Country Club provides both a wonderful golf challenge and an eye-catching landscape.
The rest of the day is at leisure. You may like to enjoy the facilities of the Altira Spa and Wellness Centre which offers superb treatments as well as sauna, steam room, brine pool, gym, Jacuzzi and hydro-pool. Or you can head into Hermanus (15 minutes drive away) to explore this picturesque resort town with its alfresco restaurants, craft shops and art galleries.

Afternoon at leisure
Drive to the Garden Route,
Today you travel through the rolling wheatfields to the Garden Route and the Fancourt Country Club where you spend next three nights. The Garden Route is known for its spectacular coastline of dramatic headlands giving way to superb Indian Ocean beaches. Behind the sand dunes lie enticing lagoons and wetland lakes, bordered by the indigenous rainforest and soaring mountains.
Fancourt Golf Estate is set at the foot of the Outeniqua mountains and boasts 350 acres of the most beautiful countryside. This tour is based on a special package which includes a round of golf per day on either the Montagu and Outeniqua courses OR a spa treatment (R475 voucher) OR dinner (R275 food voucher) per person. So you can choose whether you play one, two or three rounds of golf.
The Fancourt Hotel is primarily known for its superb golf facilities. Fancourt boasts three outstanding 18-hole courses set on 500 hectares, all designed by Gary Player. The Fancourt Golf academy, the High Performance Lab, practice greens and several pro shops complete the golfing experience at Fancourt.
Note: If you would like to play three rounds of golf and have some time for sightseeing, we suggest that you may like to play a round of golf this afternoon which frees up a day for sightseeing.

Golf at Fancourt
Today you may like to enjoy a round on the Montagu course.
The Montagu Course at Fancourt has consistently been rated within the top 10 courses in South Africa, even ranked as the top course a few times in the past.
The Montagu is considered one of the best conditioned golf courses in South Africa. It is cleverly designed, picturesque and presents a challenge to golfers of all levels, taking in a setting of mountains, water and wildlife. As with the other two Fancourt courses, play is restricted to members, their guests and hotel guests, so there is ample time to savour the Fancourt golfing experience. The warm-up area, featuring a full-length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to all golfers before play.
The rest of the day is at leisure. You can head over the Outeniqua mountain pass to the more arid landscape of the Little Karoo. Alternatively you can enjoy the nearby beaches of Wilderness or Groot Brak.
Golfer and non-golfer alike appreciate the exquisite spa at Fancourt with a complete range of treatments, gymnasium, sauna, heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi. Outside there are tennis courts, two swimming pools, squash court, volleyball and lawn bowls. There are also three nature trails, one of 10km, which wind through the forest on the estate.

Golf at Fancourt
Today you may like to sample the Outeniqua Course or have some time at leisure for sightseeing.
The Outeniqua Course at Fancourt is similar in design to The Montagu. It offers world class conditioning and a setting that takes in the mountains, water and wildlife of the estate. A gentle opening par 4 with a fairly wide landing area, a large water hazard on the 14th hole and with a good finishing 18th hole, the Outeniqua creates a wonderful challenge for all golfing enthusiasts.
In the afternoon you can choose to explore the attractive little town of Knysna on the edge of the glorious Knysna lagoon, perhaps followed by Knysna oysters and champagne as you enjoy the view across the lagoon.

Final round of golf at Fancourt
This morning you can enjoy a final round of golf or perhaps explore the area.
The Links Course is also available at an additional supplement. The Links Course at Fancourt, which hosted the 2003 President’s Cup, is a truly challenging course, especially if the wind blows, with rolling fairways alongside punishing roughs. It is considered by many to be the most impressively designed course in South Africa.
Perhaps the most eye-catching hole is the par-three 2nd hole, with a bunker in the heart of the massive green! The links offers some some extraordinary holes which will test even the best golfer in every way. It’s not for the faint-hearted but a fitting end to your golf holiday!
After lunch, you drive to George airport where you drop your rental car for your onward travel arrangements.
