On arrival at Cape Town airport you are met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Spend three nights at Steenberg Hotel, situated on an historic wine farm and golf estate in the beautiful Constantia Valley. This Cape Dutch Manor House, built in 1682, is now a gracious country house hotel. Most of the 30 rooms at Steenberg Hotel have private patios. All have en-suite bathrooms with bath and shower, air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, minibar, tea/coffee making facilities and bathrobes.

Cape Town is Southern Africa’s oldest city and its most scenic, indeed it is arguably one of the most beautifully situated cities in the world.

Self-drive tour option: Your rental car (Hyundai Tuscan / Toyota RAV SUV 2 x 4 or similar) is delivered later this morning. The day is at leisure to explore your surroundings or just settle in and relax.

Escorted tour option: This afternoon, you have a guide available for an orientation tour of the city and perhaps Table Mountain. All entrances are for your own account. Note you can opt to have this half day tour on the afternoon of Day 2 if you prefer.

Day 2: Cape Town

Golf at Steenberg

This morning you enjoy a round of golf at Steenberg.

Surrounded by vineyards, Steenberg Golf Course is a parkland course in the verdant Constantia valley with extensive mountain and forest views. Designed by well known South African golf architect, Peter Matkovich, Steenberg offers some testing and varied golf with tee boxes amongst the vineyards, much use of water, and natural sand banks in the heathland. The course features four distinct areas: wetlands, parkland, the Cape flats and fynbos. With five different tees, the course can be enjoyed by all, from championship to junior level. Visually spectacular and technically challenging, these are the sort of holes that make golfing a true pleasure.

Self-drive Tour option: The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the estate, its wine estate and the spa facilities.

Escorted Tour option: If you choose not to have the private half day tour on Day 1, you can opt to have the guide available this afternoon instead.

Day 3: Cape Town

Golf at Clovelly

This morning you enjoy 18 holes at the challenging Clovelly golf course. Clovelly Golf Course is scenically one of the best courses on the Cape Peninsula as it is more varied than many parkland courses. The lovely colonial clubhouse enjoys an elevated position above the course taking full advantage of its coastal setting with deep sand dunes encroaching upon the fairways.

Clovelly is known for its rolling fairways, undulating holes and magnificent landscaping. Wind also plays a significant factor at Clovelly! A relatively quiet course, Clovelly is a tight par 72 with a testing mix of interesting holes and elevated greens accompanied by beautiful views of Silvermine River and lakes. Sand dunes abound the course, which have natural water features and a wide variety of indigenous fauna and flora, notably the variety of trees lining the fairways.

Another plus point is that you can combine an early round of golf at Clovelly with a visit to the Cape of Good Hope in the Cape Point National Park. Sir Francis Drake, the famous explorer, once called it “the fairest Cape that we saw in the whole circumference of the Globe.” You return along the Indian Ocean coastal road where you can stop to visit the unique penguin colonies at Boulders beach and drive through the naval base of Simonstown.

Private touring option: On Days 3 and 4 you have a guide available for the whole day to transfer you to your golf club and for some optional touring before or afterwards.

Golf at Erinvale

This morning you enjoy a round of golf on the Erinvale Golf Course. Erinvale is an ‘American-style’ parkland course designed by Gary Player. The setting is stunning with the Hottentot Holland mountains as a backdrop. However this beautifully manicured championship course boasts some of the country’s most challenging and spectacular holes.

The course has two distinctly different nine holes to challenge the enthusiastic golfer. Again water and bunkers feature heavily with the additional challenge of the gradients! Erinvale’s demanding front nine meanders through park-like terrain, whilst the back nine provide a contrasting challenge winding its way through the foothills of the mountains with panoramic views of False Bay. On the 15th hole you crest the hill and enjoy a spectacular view of Gordons Bay before you. Erinvale also has a driving range, putting green and chipping green for practice.

After the golf you have the rest of the day at leisure. Within walking distance of Erinvale you have the lovely Lourensford Wine Estate known for its wine and chocolate pairing and also the historic Cape homestead of Vergelegen.

Drive to the Garden Route,

This morning you either self-drive or are transferred to the Garden Route – depending on which option you have chosen.

You spend the next three nights at the Fancourt Country Club. The Garden Route is known for its spectacular coastline of dramatic headlands giving way to superb Indian Ocean beaches. Behind the sand dunes lie enticing lagoons and wetland lakes, bordered by the indigenous rainforest and soaring mountains.

This 3 nights stay special package includes one round of golf on either the Outeniqua or Montagu courses per day OR a spa treatment or dinner to the value of R450 per person per night.

Note: If you would like one day at leisure with no golf, but still want to get three rounds in at Fancourt, then you might like to play one round of golf this afternoon.

The Fancourt Hotel is primarily known for its superb golf facilities. Fancourt boasts three outstanding 18-hole courses set on 500 hectares, all designed by Gary Player. The Fancourt Golf academy, the High Performance Lab, practice greens and several pro shops complete the golfing experience at Fancourt.

Golfer and non-golfer alike appreciate the exquisite spa at Fancourt with a complete range of treatments, gymnasium, sauna, heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi. Outside there are tennis courts, two swimming pools, squash court, volleyball and lawn bowls. There are also three nature trails, one of 10km, which wind through the forest on the estate.

Golf at Fancourt

Today you may like to try out the Montagu course at Fancourt. The Montagu Course is considered one of the best conditioned golf courses in South Africa. It is cleverly designed, picturesque and presents a challenge to golfers of all levels, taking in a setting of mountains, water and wildlife.

As with the other two Fancourt courses, play is restricted to members, their guests and hotel guests, so there is ample time to savour the Fancourt golfing experience. The warm-up area, featuring a full-length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to all golfers before play.

The rest of the day is at leisure. You can head over the Outeniqua mountain pass to the Little Karoo. You can enjoy the nearby beaches of Wilderness or Groot Brak.

The Zimbali course has two distinct sides, with some holes in open former sugar cane fields and many others cutting through the indigenous forest and coastal wetlands.
