Day 1: Cape Town

After your individual arrival, you will be warmly welcomed at the airport by an English-speaking driver. Your private transfer will take you comfortably to your accommodation in a prime location – right on the lively V&A Waterfront.

After checking in, you will have time to explore the area on your own. Stroll along the charming promenade, browse the boutiques or enjoy a delicious dinner in one of the stylish restaurants with stunning views of Table Bay.

Day 2: Cape Town

At 8 a.m., you will be warmly welcomed by your English-speaking tour guide – your half-day city tour of Cape Town begins! You will first pass the historic De Raden and the Castle of Good Hope before reaching the imposing Groote Kerk via Adderley Street with its numerous monuments. The tour continues through the charming Tamboerskloof district to the colourful Cape Malay quarter (Bo-Kaap), which delights visitors with its brightly painted houses and narrow streets. You will then visit the lively Greenmarket Square and the old town hall before exploring the Company's Garden – once the vegetable garden of the Dutch East India Company – on a leisurely stroll. Weather permitting, you will have the opportunity to take the famous cable car up to the majestic Table Mountain (ticket not included). The tour concludes with a walk through the popular Victoria & Alfred Waterfront – a vibrant hub of shops, cafés and culture.

Depending on your preference, your tour guide will take you back to the hotel afterwards – or you can enjoy some free time at the Waterfront.

Day 3: Cape Town

Today, you will take an unforgettable day trip to the Cape Peninsula – to the legendary Cape of Good Hope. This mystical place south of Cape Town is one of the most fascinating places in the world. Almost everyone knows the stories about the stormy cape, where countless ships once crashed and where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans seem to meet. Today, nature usually shows its gentler side: in clear weather, you can enjoy a breathtaking view across the sea to the horizon.

On the way there, you will discover some of the region's most beautiful highlights: you will drive along one of the most beautiful panoramic roads in the world – Chapman's Peak Drive, which nestles high above the ocean on the cliffs.

In Simons Town, you will visit the famous penguin colony at Boulders Beach, where you can get up close to these charming little creatures in their tuxedos. On the way back, you will enjoy spectacular views along the Boyes Drive coastal road. A day full of natural wonders, maritime history and unforgettable photo opportunities awaits you.

Day 4: Stellenbosch

After exciting days in Cape Town, your journey continues to South Africa's idyllic wine country. Just an hour's drive away, the historic town of Stellenbosch awaits you – known for its oak-lined avenues, well-preserved Cape Dutch architecture and lively cultural life. On a guided city tour, you will discover charming galleries, small boutiques and traditional cafés. Afterwards, continue to Franschhoek, where you can enjoy a wine tasting at one of the region's renowned wineries. Surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards and stylish scenery, you will learn more about the long tradition of winegrowing.

Day 5: Oudtshoorn

After breakfast, your journey takes you along the picturesque Route 62 to Oudtshoorn, in the heart of the Little Karoo. The R62 is considered one of South Africa's most beautiful travel routes – it winds its way through rolling hills, dreamy wine villages and vast semi-desert plains. Along the way, you can expect breathtaking views, charming farm stands and small towns with lots of character – a real alternative to the more famous Garden Route. In Oudtshoorn, the world-famous ostrich capital, you will first check into your accommodation. In the afternoon, visit a traditional ostrich farm, where you will learn all about the fascinating world of ostrich breeding during an informative guided tour. Learn more about the breeding, husbandry and economic importance of these extraordinary birds and experience these majestic animals up close.

Day 6: Knysna

After breakfast, you will set off for one of South Africa's geological wonders – the fascinating Cango Caves. These impressive limestone caves, which have been carved deep into the rock over millions of years, offer you a mysterious world of enormous stalactite formations, enchanted halls and underground history.

The journey then continues towards the coast. During the whale season from September to November, you have the opportunity to stop in Mossel Bay and optionally take part in a 90-minute boat safari to watch the whales (optional & weather dependent). With a little luck, you may spot southern right whales or even dolphins – an unforgettable nature experience! Today's destination is charming Knysna, picturesquely situated on a turquoise lagoon, surrounded by dense forests and green hills. After checking into your accommodation, the rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure. Stroll along the Knysna Waterfront, browse the small boutiques or enjoy fresh oysters in one of the stylish restaurants overlooking the water.

Day 7: Greater Addo

Today, you continue your journey along the picturesque Garden Route – your destination is the spectacular Tsitsikamma National Park, a natural paradise on the rugged coast of the Eastern Cape. Depending on the weather, you can take a walk to the famous Storms River mouth, where the roaring waves of the Indian Ocean meet the dense forests of the hinterland. The national park stretches for around 80 kilometres along the rugged coastline with steep cliffs, foaming surf and dramatic sea views. Inland, an impressive mountain world awaits you with deep valleys, dense high forests and species-rich mountain fynbos, criss-crossed by wild rivers and gorges. In the afternoon, you will reach Addo Elephant National Park, a real highlight of your trip. On the very first day, you will experience an exciting game drive in a tour vehicle. Originally founded to save the last eleven elephants in the region from extinction, Addo is now the third largest national park in South Africa and a symbol of successful conservation work. Today, around 500 elephants live on over 180,000 hectares – alongside lions, buffalos, rhinos, numerous antelope species and an impressive bird life. Look forward to your first encounter with Africa's wildlife in its natural environment – an unforgettable start to your safari experience!

Day 8: Greater Addo

After breakfast, you will set off for the nearby Amakhala Game Reserve, a private game reserve renowned for its scenic beauty and rich wildlife. The crowning glory of your trip awaits you here: a jeep safari through the African wilderness! Accompanied by an experienced ranger, you will track down the ‘Big Five’ and experience the fascinating wildlife up close. With a little luck, you may spot a lioness on the prowl, a mighty elephant leisurely making its way through the thicket, or a giraffe striding elegantly across the savannah. During the drive, your ranger will share exciting insights into the behaviour and habitat of the wild animals – an impressive blend of knowledge, adventure and respect for nature. To recharge your batteries, a delicious lunch awaits you in a stylish lodge in the middle of the reserve – surrounded by unspoilt nature and the sounds of the wilderness. 

Day 9: Durban

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the morning before continuing your journey. Your trip takes you to Port Elizabeth, now known as Gqeberha. On an orientation city tour, you will discover the most important sights and learn more about the history of this charming coastal city.

Upon arrival at Durban Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by an English-speaking driver. A comfortable transfer will take you along the sunny coast to your next destination – the charming resort of Umdloti Beach.

After checking into your accommodation, the evening is the perfect time to enjoy the fresh sea breeze on a relaxing walk along the beach and end the day on a peaceful note. Feel the warm sand beneath your feet, listen to the sound of the waves and immerse yourself in the relaxed atmosphere of this popular coastal town – an ideal start to your time on South Africa's east coast.

Day 10: St Lucia

Meet your tour guide at 9 a.m. Today, you will continue your journey along lush sugar cane fields and pineapple plantations – a taste of the fertile coastal region of KwaZulu-Natal. Afterwards, you will drive to the nearby Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, Africa's oldest game reserve. Explore the park's species-rich terrain on an exciting game drive in an open safari vehicle. In addition to lions, elephants, giraffes and numerous antelope species, Hluhluwe is considered one of the best places to see the rare and endangered black rhinos. After this intense safari experience, you will head to St Lucia, picturesquely situated between the Indian Ocean and the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. St Lucia is not only popular with holidaymakers – a herd of hippos has also made its home here. Especially in the evening, when the sun goes down, the animals leave the water and stroll through the village to feed on the fresh grass. It is a fascinating spectacle that delights locals and visitors alike.

Day 11: eSwatini

Another highlight awaits you in the morning: a leisurely two-hour boat safari on the St Lucia Estuary. Your boat glides at a leisurely pace across the calm waters and soon the impressive life in the river reveals itself: hippos emerge from the water grunting, eye you sleepily and then dive back down again. Crocodiles basking on the banks appear motionless, but are always alert.

The bird life here is also spectacular – with a little luck, you will spot majestic pelicans, colourful kingfishers and many other feathered inhabitants of this unique wetland. Afterwards, you will bid farewell to South Africa's coast and continue on to the small but fascinating kingdom (formerly Swaziland) – one of the last three remaining monarchies in Africa. The landlocked country, which borders South Africa and Mozambique, surprises with a hilly, picturesque landscape that lies in gentle waves under the African sky.

Your destination for the day is the green Ezulwini Valley, also known as the ‘Valley of Heaven’. Here you will visit a traditional craft market offering artistically crafted souvenirs and lovingly made handicrafts. Finally, in a Swazi cultural village, you will immerse yourself in the living history and traditions of the Swazi people – an authentic and impressive end to this eventful day.

Day 12: Hazyview

After a relaxed breakfast, you will bid farewell to the small kingdom of eSwatini and ‘return’ to South Africa. As the landscape slowly transitions into the majestic foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains, you will approach the next highlight of your journey: the breathtaking Panorama Route. In the afternoon, you will reach your accommodation in Hazyview or Sabie, idyllically located and a perfect starting point for discovering the natural wonders of this region. The rest of the day is yours to spend at your leisure. Those seeking peace and quiet can relax in the hotel's lovingly landscaped garden and end the day with a good book or by the pool.

For those who prefer a more active holiday, there is an optional tour: how about an adrenaline rush with ziplining, where you swing from treetop to treetop (secured and guided) and experience nature from a bird's eye view? Or would you prefer a very special encounter? Then a visit to the Elephant Sanctuary is just the thing. Here you have the opportunity to experience elephants up close, learn more about their behaviour and protection, and maybe even help with feeding or caring for them. Whether you prefer a relaxed end to the day or an active adventure – today, you decide how you want to spend your afternoon.

Day 13: Hoedspruit

Today, one of South Africa's most scenic routes awaits you: the legendary Panorama Route. On the way to your lodge on the edge of the world-famous Kruger National Park, you will discover impressive natural phenomena and viewpoints that are among the highlights of the region. Your route takes you to Bourke's Luck Potholes, bizarre rock formations that have been shaped by thousands of years of water erosion and look like giant works of natural art. The journey continues to the Three Rondavels, three striking rock formations that rise out of the rock face like traditional round huts – with spectacular views of the Blyde River Canyon, which stretches majestically across the landscape and is one of the largest canyons in the world.

You will experience a particularly magical moment at God's Window: from this vantage point, on a clear day, you can enjoy an almost limitless view over the green, semi-tropical Lowveld, the lowlands that stretch far into the horizon. The drive also takes you over winding mountain passes with ever-changing views of lush forests, deep valleys and waterfalls. In the early afternoon, you will arrive at your lodge near Kruger Park. After checking in, you can end the day however you like. Relax on the terrace with a view of the bush, or experience the African wilderness up close on an optional walking safari with an experienced local guide. On quiet feet, you will follow animal tracks, discover small details along the way and listen to the sounds of the bush. An impressive nature experience that will remain in your memory for a long time to come.

 

Day 14: Hoedspruit

Today, a real highlight is on the agenda: a full-day jeep safari in the world-famous Kruger National Park. In an open off-road vehicle, you will explore one of Africa's largest game reserves, which covers almost 20,000 square kilometres and is home to an impressive variety of wildlife. With a little luck, you will encounter the legendary Big Five during your game drive: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. But you may also encounter zebras, giraffes, kudus, warthogs, countless bird species and many other animals. Perhaps you will spot a lioness basking in the sun on a rock, a herd of elephants cooling off at a waterhole, or zebras leisurely roaming the golden grasslands. Your experienced ranger knows the best spots to track down as many animals as possible and will provide you with fascinating information about the park's complex ecosystem along the way. Don't forget to have your camera ready and make sure you have enough memory space – the breathtaking landscapes and surprising animal encounters offer countless photo opportunities.

After a day full of exciting discoveries, return to your lodge, where you can relax and unwind in the evening – perhaps with a cool drink on the terrace as the sun disappears behind the acacia

Day 15: End of Itinerary

Today, a real highlight is on the agenda: a full-day jeep safari in the world-famous Kruger National Park. In an open off-road vehicle, you will explore one of Africa's largest game reserves, which covers almost 20,000 square kilometres and is home to an impressive variety of wildlife. 

After eventful days in southern Africa, it is time to say goodbye today. After breakfast, you will set off for Johannesburg, where your impressive journey comes to an end. Your return flight is possible from 4 p.m. – leaving you plenty of time for a last look out of the window at the passing landscape that you have experienced so intensely over the last few days.

You will begin your journey home with unforgettable memories of fascinating animal encounters, spectacular landscapes and warm encounters. Or perhaps it is only a ‘see you again’ – because, as we all know, Africa always draws you back.
