Day 1: Cape Town

Arrival

Arrive at Cape Town International Airport where the group will be met by a representative and your guide. Transfer to the hotel. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Table Mountain, Lion's Head and the cityscape as you drive to one of the vibiest, most well known streets in Cape Town where your hotel is situated - Kloof Street! Tasteful, sophisticated and quirky, the Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel is exactly where you want to land on your first night in Cape Town. Close to the trendiest and current restaurants, bars, galleries and other attractions in the City Bowl, you'll be spoiled for choice.

Day 2: Cape Town

Cape Peninsula and Constantia

We take the scenic route along the Atlantic Seaboard towards the Southern Peninsula. We pass through beautiful coastal conservation villages and head along the world-renowned Chapman’s Peak coastal drive on our way to Cape of Good Hope.

We enter Cape Point National Park and enjoy its wonderful array of flowers from the Cape Floristic Kingdom, and if we are lucky some baboons, ostriches or antelope.

Here we can choose between a coastal foraging experience, inclusive of foraged lunch and snacks or a botanical cocktail workshop where you will forage for wild herbs and edible flowers and learn how to expertly use them in your gin cocktail, followed by lunch in one of the world renowned restaurants in Constantia.

On our return we visit the African Penguin colony in Simon’s Town.

We continue to one of the legendary wineries in the area, to reminisce over the beautiful day whilst sipping on wine in one of the oldest wine producing regions in South Africa.

Return to the city between 5-6pm.

ILIOS Cape Point & Peninsula (Full Day)

This awe-inspiring tour to the towering headland known as Cape Point encompasses magnificent beaches, breath-taking views, and picturesque coastal villages. The Cape Peninsula is one of the world’s most scenic areas and stretches from the City centre to Cape Point. Note: The drive via Chapman’s Peak is subject to the road being open. Ou Kaapse Weg will be used as an alternative route when necessary.

Day 3: Cape Town

Table Mountain, V&A Waterfront or Robben Island Tour

After breakfast we will make our way to the V&A Waterfront where you will have the choice to relax, shop and enjoy the V&A Waterfront or to make your way to the Robben Island Museum which departs at 9.

If you opt for Robben Ilsand, the tour takes between 3.5 to 4 hours. You will then disembark at Murray’s Bay Harbour situated on the Eastern side of the Island and take a short walk to the buses that will transport you to all the historical sites around the Island.

Lunch will be had at the Food Market in V&A Waterfront where you will get to choose and experience numerous delicious artisanal street food stands serving a wonderful array of tastes within an authentic market environment. Please note lunch is at own cost.

After lunch we head towards Table Mountain for the five-minute cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain, 1 089 metres above Cape Town, and explore the summit. This is a great spot to sit and soak up the commanding 360-degree views of Cape Town, Table Bay, the nearby peaks of the surrounding mountains and the rest of the Table Mountain National Park, in which the cableway is situated. Please bring a warm jacket, sun lotion, good walking shoes, water, sunglasses and some spending money. And don’t forget your camera!

Never a dull moment in Cape Town, you'll be transported after a change at the hotel to dinner and a show in the uber trendy and popular leisure district of Green Point, at Rockwell Dinner Theatre.

Day 4: Cape Town

Cape Town Foodie Tour

After Breakfast we enjoy a full day of exploring the city combined with a spectacular culinary journey, showcasing some of the best of South Africa’s artisanal producers and creative spaces. From cheesemakers to chocolatiers, charcuterie to craft beer breweries, world renowned wines and traditional snacks.

First stop is a coffee tasting and tour at one of the oldest artisan coffee roasters in South Africa. From here we head to the Company’s Gardens for a walk and some local snacks, and then we go to Woodstock – a vibrant hidden gem on the outskirts of town for a craft beer & food pairing.

Now for something sweet! A tour of a chocolate factory, complete with tasting and a hot chocolate to follow.

Next we start our walking tour up Bree Street, Cape Town’s coolest strip, coveted by locals and tourists alike. Along the way we will get our teeth into South Africa’s favourite snack, biltong, before heading off to the iconic and colourful district of Bo Kaap to sample the delights of the Cape’s Eastern traditions, including samosas and koeksisters.

Finish the day with a wonderful cheese platter accompanied by one of SA’s best wines whilst chatting to the cheesemaker.

Day 5: Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch

Depart Cape Town for Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa. Here you can choose between a hike or mountain biking in the winelands and mountains for a few hours, followed by a great walking foody tour.

In the evening we will enjoy dinner at one of the many top restaurants in the area.

Day 6: Stellenbosch

We have an exciting morning ahead where we will become guests of the local township community who will show us how they live, and more importantly, share their incredible traditional dishes with us.

The rest of the day is free for wine tasting and relaxing.

Day 7: Elgin Valley

Franschoek and Elgin Valley

We depart Stellenbosch and head off to the beautiful Franschhoek Valley. We will enjoy a leisurely lunch of local and seasonal produce under the trees at a legendary wine estate in the Franschhoek Valley.

We head over the Franschhoek pass where you will enjoy the beautiful views before arriving in Elgin.

Once you've reached the land of apples, we will have a wine tasting before we check into the quirky Old Mac Daddy - a modern trailer park situated among orchards with incredible views. Here you will be treated to a braai, or better known in the rest of the world as a barbeque, South African style. A big part of the South African culture!

Day 8: Elgin Valley

Go do the biggest and most breathtaking zipline tour in South Africa. The 9 slides zig zag through the mountains and over rivers, while you revel in how lucky you are to be there, soak up the views and the stunning biodiversity. Follow this by a lunch on a wine and apple farm and end the day with one or more wine or cider tastings.

Not quite adventurous enough? Elgin is also known for its incredible mountain biking routes, so if you prefer testing them out, spend a few hours in the saddle!

An Elgin food and wine taster day is also highly recommended. Locals pride themselves in either growing or sourcing their food locally, served with love!

We will end the day off with chocolate and wine pairing at Paul and Nicky Wallace's farm. They love to entertain their guests with stories of how they ended up in the valley, making wine.

Day 9: Whale Coast

Hermanus, Stanford & Shark Cage Diving

Get going early to explore the Whale Coast! Between July and November, you may be lucky enough to spot a whale from shore.

Choose one of the morning activities below or sample some of the wines in the Hemel & Aarde valley before visiting the cheesemaker in Stanford. In the evening we will feast on the freshly prepared meal at our luxury farm accommodation with views over the valley.

Day 10: Livingstone

Departure - South Africa to Zambia

Depart Stanford to take an international flight from Cape Town to Zambia. Shortly after arrival, we will board the Lady Livingstone for a sunset cruise on the Zambezi while sipping away on a drink and watching the hippos, crocs and birds.

Day 11: Livingstone

Take a walking tour of the falls to experience the "smoke that thunders" in all its glory, followed by a 15 min heli flip over the falls.

There is also a short village tour available, should that be of interest.

For the more adventurous, we recommend a visit to Livingstone Island for a swim in the Devil's Pool - a natural pool in the edge of the falls! This can only be done in the dryer season when the water is low. A half day river rafting trip is also one of the top things to do.

In the evening, take a speedboat cruise up river to the Elephant Cafe. Currently rated as the best restaurant in Livingstone, you interact with orphan elephants by feeding and petting them before enjoying a delicious gourmet meal from locally sourced ingredients - all on the river's edge.

Day 12: Livingstone

Saving the best for last! An hour's travel will take you through the border to Chobe Game Reserve in Botswana. Words can't quite describe this spectacular site. In the morning you will do a game drive and in the afternoon a river cruise before heading back to Livingstone.

Tip: If you want to really get a feel of the bush, then extend your trip for one night and have a camping experience where you will hear lions roar and elephant's trumpet. Your chances of seeing leopard is also greater if you stay overnight.
