Day 1: Kariega Private Game Reserve

Make your way to Kariega Ukhozi Lodge to arrive by 2:00 PM, so you still have time to settle in before joining your first shared afternoon game drive. We can assist with a rental car if you are planning a more extensive journey, possibly along the Garden Route. Alternatively, we can arrange transfers from and back to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).

Day 2: Kariega Private Game Reserve

The morning game drive starts at sunrise. You will wake up before dawn for tea and coffee before the game drive starts. Then, you are off for 3 hours to find as many animals as possible before they all find trees to hide under in the heat of the day.

During one of your morning game drives, you can enjoy a majestic cruise down the Kariega River.

When the game drive returns to the lodge, you will be served a delicious hot breakfast and have time to relax. You can sit by the pool, read a book, take a nap and absorb being out in the bush. If you prefer an activity-filled day, guided bush walks and canoeing are on offer.

After high tea, the afternoon game drive will start around 3:30–4:00 PM. It will last for +-3 hours, with a stop somewhere for sundowners. You will return to the lodge in the dark, with a spotlight to look for nocturnal animals.

Day 3: End of Itinerary

After your final morning game drive to look for the last remaining animals that have eluded you, enjoy a warm breakfast and depart the lodge for your next destination. We will happily help with any add-ons, such as the Garden Route, Cape Town, Victoria Falls and more.
