Day 1: Bremen

Welcome to Bremen!

Depending on your arrival time, head out on a lovely stroll through the Old Town.

Check in to your hotel and enjoy time at leisure before dinner.

Dinner is served in the "Ständige Vertretung" close to Rathaus Platz or in the Schnoor Quarter.

A very cozy theme pub-restaurant decorated with memories of 1970s German politics. Located in Böttcherstraße. In this famous street, you will find "STÄV" as they call themselves (mocking the German obsession of shortcuts) in the house of St. Petrus, which was built as a house of gastronomy in 1923-26. Its small-scale architecture with bay windows, gables, and arcades, combines the English country house style with traditional Hanseatic elements. Enjoy Bremen and Rhenish specialties and, of course: Kölsch (beer).

If you fancy a nice little restaurant in the cozy Schnoor quarter - we can help you with that.

Return to your hotel at your own leisure.

Day 2: Bremen

Bremen City Sightseeing

After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, it is time to get out and explore the wonderful German Hanse City.
Meet your local guide in reception, and head out on a tour of the German.  Learn about the city's turbulent history on a 3-hour tour.

Start the tour at the iconic Kaffeemühle am Wall. The city’s typical Dutch windmill adds a rural flavor to the parkland tracing the part of town where Bremen’s city fortifications once were.  Continue the walk to Dom St. Petri.

Located inside Dom St Petri, but accessed via a separate entrance south of the main door, the Lead Cellar was formerly the cathedral’s cellar and today is a crypt, housing eight preserved corpses that mummified in the cathedral crypt's dry air. They include a Swedish countess, a soldier with his mouth opened in a silent scream, and a student who died in a duel in 1705. It's more than a little creepy.

Walk down to the "Snoor" district. This maze of narrow, winding alleys was once the fishermen's quarter and later a red-light district. Now its doll's-house-sized cottages contain boutiques, restaurants, cafes, and galleries. Though mainly geared to tourists, it has some lovely corners to explore on a leisurely ramble. Here we´ll enjoy our Lunch in the Beck´s in´n Snoor.

After Lunch, we are visiting either Kunsthalle or Übersee Museum, then hop on the bus and drive to the Hafenmuseum Speicher XI. We continue to See Denkort Bunker Valentin (the second-largest above-ground bunker in Europe). We then can decide if we continue to Bremerhaven (ca 40 min.) or we return to the hotel.

Before going to dinner - there should be time for a beer tasting in the Alte Braumanufaktur. A fantastic way to start an unforgettable evening!

And a great explanation by  Markus, the owner of the Braumanufaktur who is not just a real Braumeister.

We suggest the Schatzkammer cellar tour before having Dinner in Ratskeller. During the tour, you will experience Europe's largest wine storage with over 5000m2 - protected under the UNESCO act, the Bremer Weinkeller is a very special place. Sacred for wine experts, interesting for guests who are new to wine. You will taste wine as well, and then enjoy Dinner in the Bremer Ratskeller -  housed in the 600-year-old town hall of Bremen and wash all the impressions of the day down with a good glass of German wine (or two).

Expert tips

Many places in Bremen do not take very much time to visit. We suggest using the bus and guide you´ve hired on that day as much as possible and make your free time and shopping on the day before/after.

Of course, we can make the program shorter and make the combination with Bremerhaven in the afternoon.

For Football fans only - The "Wuseum".
