Day 2: Lima

Scavenger Hunt in Lima

Central Lima’s colonial streets and alleys, casonas and cathedrals, hide centuries of stories and intriguing history. Embark on a journey back in time, visiting four of the city’s most enigmatic sites on an interactive scavenger hunt assisted by musicians and costumed icons of Lima’s past. 

Please allow approximately three hours of adventure and five hours for the entire experience.

Day 3: The Sacred Valley

Visit Pisac Ruins and Calca Market

Head to the heights of Pisac where you will first visit the ruins, a very important city during Inca times and the only Inca site apart from Machu Picchu with a stone sun dial. You will learn about the history and the most interesting temples and structures while enjoying breathtaking views of the countless agricultural terraces leading down to the Urubamba River and the Sacred Valley. 
Then continue to the traditional Andean town of Calca in the shadows of the eastern mountains of the Sacred Valley. Here, the town market is buzzing with commerce and stalls selling local and foreign goods like fruits, vegetables, herbs, potatoes, flowers, etc.

Day 4: The Sacred Valley

Lake Huaypo Kayaking & Biking to Maras

You will head over to the beautiful and serene waters of Lake Huaypo for a pleasant morning of kayak exploration. Soak in the Andean scenery and spot rare birds while exploring the Sacred Valley from a unique angle. After a gourmet outdoor lunch, you will go mountain biking to the awe-inspiring salt mines of Maras passing through sleepy settlements where locals are going about their daily lives, working their farmlands.

Please allow approximately up to two hours kayaking, up to three hours biking and up to seven hours for the entire experience | Please pack shoes that can get wet and a set of dry clothes for the lake activity.

Day 5: Machu Picchu

Explore Machu Picchu

Meet your guide at the exit of the train station or in the lobby of your hotel for a short walk to the bus station and a 20-minute bus ride up to Machu Picchu Citadel (elevation: 8,000 ft. – 2,432 m.a.s.l.). Scratching the surface of the heavens from its place atop the grandest of mountaintop pedestals, it is easy to lose yourself in the mystique and grandeur of this enigmatic citadel. Soak in the energy and atmosphere of one of the most significant archeological sites on the planet while your guide helps you uncover the secrets behind key areas of interest such as the Sun Dial, the Guard House, the Sacred Plaza and the Temple of the Sun.

Please allow approximately three hours for the guided route and four hours for the entire experience | You must show your passport in order to be allowed to enter Machu Picchu Citadel.

Day 6: Cusco

Hike Sun Gate

Take a short walk from your hotel, followed by a 20-minute bus ride to Machu Picchu citadel (8,000 ft. – 2,432 m.a.s.l.) only if you're staying down in the village. Enjoy the privileged view of Machu Picchu from the principal entrance Inti Punku (Sun gate) without having to hike the Inca Trail.  This easy to moderate hike follows the path taken by the Incas in reverse, allowing the lucky few to marvel at what would have been a travellers first impression upon entering this ceremonial site. No special entrance is required, just the desire to explore a little deeper the mysteries of Machu Picchu. 

Please allow approximately up to two hours hiking and three hours for the entire experience | You must show your passport in order to be allowed to enter Machu Picchu Citadel.

Day 7: Cusco

From the Cacao Bean to Chocolate and Much More

You will learn all the steps from the harvest of the cacao bean in a plantation to the result in a chocolate bar and you will also recreate and enjoy the first known chocolate drink, invented by the Mayas, as well as another special chocolatey treat.

Please allow approximately two hours for the entire experience.
