Cape Town & Malaria Free Safari and Conservation Experience

On arrival at Cape Town International Airport CPT), walk up the jet way and enter the terminal building. You will be met by our representative and then will be assisted through the arrivals/customs formalities. You are handed your detailed travel documents and then assisted to the Arrivals Hall to meet your guide, who will then transfer you to the Clarendon Fresnaye for your four night stay 

This morning, you will be collected from your hotel by your registered private guide to visit the the  and some of the highlights Cape Peninsula, enjoy scenic coastal drives, visit the Cape Point Nature Reserve, and Boulders Penguin Colony, and stopping to visit the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botantical Gardens.

The tours take place in the expansive townships or informal settlements located in the eastern part of the city known as the Cape Flats. Our expert guides provide an in-depth overview of the history of South Africa and particularly the role that apartheid and institutionalized discrimination and inequality played in creating these communities. Once in the townships, the guide will discuss in detail the challenges confronting the locals concerning healthcare, education, social, political, and economic challenges.

This morning, you will be collected from your hotel by your registered private guide to visit the Table Mountain and some of the highlights of the mother city of Cape Town. 

This morning you will be transferred back to Cape Town International Airport, where you will check into your flight to Johannesburg. 

On arrival in Johannesburg, you will be met and transferred Marataba Conservation Camp, for your

Marataba, a 21,000-hectare (52,000-acre), privately managed section of the Marakele National Park, is uniquely situated where lush bushveld gives way to the Kalahari sands, in South Africa’s Limpopo Province. 

A stay at Marataba Conservation Camps is focused on balancing tourism with nature. Guests can immerse themselves in solitude of the vast, wild spaces of Marataba whilst also actively participating in essential conservation projects. Founders Camp, with 4 suites and 1 vehicle and guide, can be booked on an exclusive-use basis. The camp overlooks the Matlabas River, which attracts a variety of wildlife. The suites are tucked under the trees and have large decks from which to enjoy the water. At the main area, there are indoor and outdoor dining areas, an interactive kitchen and a swimming pool. Explorers Camp has 5 canvas tents and 1 family tent and is available on a semi-exclusive use basis with 2 guides and 2 vehicles. From camp, guests enjoy views of a favourite waterhole and the dramatic Waterberg Mountains and with its large, shady lawns and dedicated family tent, is an ideal choice for families.

Dynamic and fun, yet responsible and sustainable, the activities at Marataba Conservation Camps are entirely tailored to suit every individual. Experiences are offered on a ‘mix and match’ basis and each booking has a private guide and vehicle to ensure the utmost flexibility.

Every booking is allocated a private conservation guide and vehicle to allow for maximum flexibility, and experiences can be chosen on a ‘mix and match’ basis for a fully tailor-made stay. In addition to daily safari activities, guests at Marataba Conservation Camps participate  in transect walks, camera trap setup and analysis, game census logging and compiling of ID kits, and further opportunities to get involved in specialised experiences with the conservation team. The three-day Rhino Conservation Safari (at an additional charge; available from 1 February to 31 October only) is dedicated to rhino protection, including monitoring and active participation in essential conservation interventions.

This morning you will be met and transferred to Madikwe Game Reserve for your three night big 5 safari. 

Rise in the morning to an African dawn and enjoy an early morning game drive with your dedicated professional ranger and tracker. Relax as your ranger guides you through the bush on a custom made open Land Rover searching out the secrets of nature. In the afternoon, when the heat of the African sun has diminished and the shadows are longer, head out on a sundowner safari to watch the sun set on this bushveld paradise and go in search of the more nocturnal creatures that now rule the bush.

What happens when you can’t get enough of the game viewing on game drive? You spend your time in our amazing Elephant hide of course. Our underground hide is situated mere meters away from the lodge’s waterhole with non-stop action from Elephants rolling in the mud to terrapins poking their heads out from the water. With a fully stocked bar and the finest Italian coffee you wouldn’t want to leave this air-conditioned paradise.

This morning after your morning game drive, you will be transferred back to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight back to Johannesburg.
