Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, meet with an Airport Usher who will assist you with car hire and get you on your way to the mother city

A suggested activity today is to get to know the inner city and various other locations on foot and there is no better way to do this than by sampling the local cuisine

We recommend that you spend the day either self-driving or guiding along the classic Cape Peninsula route.

End your first day in the valley with dinner at the Tasting Room at Le Quartier Francais – you will need to book – one of the top restaurants in the country. The Tasting Room offers an exquisite dining experience with the eight-course African surprise menu changing regularly according to what locally sourced ingredients are available to be sourced or foraged. The staff are all local, and their knowledge of the food – and the area – is second to none.
We recommend the hop on and hope off wine tram to experience the varied activities on offer, be it wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or just a stroll through the vineyards. And when you’re ready, simply hop-on to continue your journey. Alternatively, take a private wine guide and tour the winelands at your leisure

Exploring the main street of Franschhoek’s vibrant village, which is lined with shops, specialist stores and arts and crafts studios and galleries. It is very much the heart of the Franschhoek valley and is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the town’s unique culture and heritage.
Explore the De Hoop Nature Reserve and discover a wealth of marine, bird, animal and rare plant species while enjoying a comfortable and relaxing stay. If you are here over the whale season, the walking routes have many vantage points for exactly that

All meals, all local house wines, beers, spirits and cool drinks, road transfers to/from the lodge’s guest car park 6 km away and all daily activities
Leaving De Hoop, we recommend a stop over in the quaint village of Swellendam where a coffee stop at a local bakery is always a pleasure. Many roads lead from here to Oudtshoorn and for the more adventurous, the route via Calitzdorp takes you to the arid wine region and the Port Capital of South Africa. The main road boasts a few lovely little restaurants an is well worth a stop

Oudtshoorn is a town in the Klein Karoo area of South Africa’s Western Cape. It’s known for its ostrich farms and rests along the Route 62 wine route. T The nearby Cango Wildlife Ranch is a conservation park offering animal petting. To the north, the Cango Caves are a 20-million-year-old network of limestone chambers

Stop over in Knysna for a boat ride or just walk along the waterfront.
