Today you enjoy an interesting road journey to Tarangire National park. for two nights on safari.
The rich ecosystem of Tarangire supports one of the highest densities of zebra, wildebeest and gemsbok as well as the largest population of elephants in northern Tanzania, now numbering close to 2,500.
Today you continue north-west and visit the haunting Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive en route to the Ngorongoro Highlands where you stay for 2 nights.
This tranquil region offers a striking contrast to the wildlife-rich Ngorongoro Crater below, where game viewing is among the most concentrated in Africa. Descending onto the crater floor delivers a thrilling shift in tempo; from peaceful highland forests to one of the continent’s most extraordinary natural arenas for game.
This morning you enjoy a full day of game-viewing in the Crater with a picnic lunch.
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest extinct volcano with an 18 km diameter floor. It is home to over 30 000 animals including the rare Black Rhino. Some of these animals spend their entire lives here in its enclosed ecosystem. The views across the crater are quite spectacular with the grassy floor busy with wildlife contrasting with the darker crater walls behind. It is one of those places that just has to be seen.
The safari concludes in the Serengeti National Park, reached by light aircraft from Lake Manyara. Here, vast open plains stretch to the horizon, allowing wildlife to roam freely in response to the seasonal rains. Depending on the time of year, your stay is positioned to maximise encounters with the Great Migration, one of nature’s most compelling spectacles.
