Day 1: Cotopaxi National Park

A spectacular start to the adventure visiting Cotopaxi National Park, home to one of the highest active volcanoes in the world (5,897 m). After a brief visit to the park museum, we continue up to around 4,500 meters for incredible views of the Andean páramo. Equipped with helmets and protective gear, we begin an exciting downhill biking adventure along dirt roads through volcanic ash landscapes and grasslands. Along the way we may spot wild horses, Andean foxes, and other wildlife before finishing near the Pucará Inca ruins where we enjoy lunch.

Expert tips

Warm clothes (including hat, scarf and gloves), and waterproofs are recommended for this tour. Also, remember that it's important to drink lots of water and stay hydrated while at high altitude.

Day 2: Baños

This morning we travel to Baños, a lively town located at the gateway to the Amazon. In the afternoon enjoy an adventure activity such as horseback riding through scenic mountain trails or canyoning in the surrounding waterfalls and rivers. Later we visit the famous Casa del Árbol, home of the iconic “Swing at the End of the World,” offering breathtaking views of Tungurahua Volcano and the lush valley below.

Expert tips

The driver will stay at your disposal for the rest of the day in case you wish to visit any other tourist sites close to Baños

Day 3: Napo Province

We explore the famous Route of the Waterfalls, visiting several impressive cascades along the Pastaza River valley. One of the highlights is the spectacular Pailón del Diablo waterfall. Later we continue our journey toward the Amazon region to the town of Tena. Upon arrival we visit the fascinating Jumandi Caves and enjoy a chocolate experience learning about Ecuador’s world-renowned cacao.

Day 4: Napo Province

Today we experience the thrill of rafting on one of the Amazon foothill rivers. With professional guides and safety equipment, we navigate exciting rapids surrounded by lush rainforest scenery. This is a fun and active day combining adventure with incredible natural surroundings.

Day 5: Napo Province

A fantastic hiking day exploring the impressive Mondayacu Canyon. The trail follows crystal-clear rivers, natural pools, and waterfalls surrounded by dense rainforest. Along the way there are opportunities to swim, relax, and enjoy the beautiful Amazonian landscape.

Day 6: Papallacta

Leaving the Amazon behind, we head back toward the Andes with a stop at a beautiful hummingbird reserve where colorful species visit the feeders in the cloudforest. Later we continue to Papallacta, famous for its natural thermal springs located in a scenic high-Andean valley. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot pools after an adventurous trip.
