7-Day Cape Town & Zambia - Suggested Itinerary

Day 1: Cape Town

Varied international arrivals jet into Cape Town International Airport today, you will be met by local staff and assisted to your waiting transfer vehicles. Transfer directly to your hotel in the V&A Waterfront, approx. 30 minutes.


Welcome sparkling wine on check in at your hotel and time to refresh and unpack.


Afternoon optional activities (available for those arriving during the day):


City walking tour: 2hrs (suggested groups of up to 15)

Table Mountain: 2hrs (no maximum) last car up 6 pm/last car down 7 pm

Helicopter Flip over the city: 20min



DINNER: This evening is a dine around option, allowing you to try the various amazing restaurants & cuisine which Cape Town has to offer, all located within easy walking distance of your hotel.


Day 2: Cape Town

Breakfast at your hotel and depart for Millers Point, near Simonstown to board your waiting powerboats for a morning of adrenaline filled fun around Cape Point (weather permitting). View the point from the Ocean, a unique and breathtaking vantage point.


Disembark at Buffels Bay (weather permitting) in Cape Point, with sparkling wine on the beach followed by lunch at Two Oceans restaurant at Cape Point.


After your leisurely lunch, a coastal drive with views across False Bay, to Boulders Beach, for a walk with African penguins in their natural habitat.


Optional: Harley Davidson/sidecar transfers back to your hotel from Boulders or regular coach transfers.


DINNER: GOLD African Restaurant.

From the moment you walk through the glass doors into the Restaurant, you will be taken on a taste safari from Cape Malay to African cuisine, across the African continent, Cape Town to Timbuktu. In this beautiful aged brick interior with wooden beams and iron pillars, you will feel the heartbeat of a unique African restaurant.


A soothing hand washing ceremony will begin your dining experience, followed by your African feast. Shared platters are brought to your table by gorgeous African staff, face painting is also done at tables and entertainment is included – feel the beat of the African drum, soulful voices in song and energetic dancing. Guests are encouraged to join in and try some African dancing!


Cape Point Power Boat Excursion

Day 3: Cape Town

Breakfast at your hotel and departure for a half day in the Cape Winelands for wine & chocolate tasting at the historic Boschendal Wine Estate.


One of the oldest farms in South Africa, founded in 1685, the farm has grown with the passing centuries into a cherished source of wholesome produce, great wines and happy memories.

Enjoy the beautiful mountain views whilst sipping on world class wines and relax on the lush green lawns.

Your private tasting will be held at The Cellar Door – max 55 guests per group.


LUNCH: Private picnic lunch on the Rhone Homestead lawns (weather dependent) or in the Olive Press indoor venue as a weather backup (max 250 guests inside).

Picnic baskets can be enjoyed at carefully-laid out tables or on a picnic blanket under the shade of the oak trees.

DINNER: Gala dinner at one of the oldest venues in South Africa, the Castle of Good Hope.


The Castle of Good Hope is the oldest surviving building in South Africa and has been the center of civilian, political and military life in the Cape since 1666. Reminiscent of a bygone era, your dinner will be a magical experience, complete with arrival, ceremonial guards, standing to attention and a red carpet leading you to your private clear span marquee. Décor to complement this historical period can include paper menu “scrolls” with a company wax stamp and engraved wine goblets.

Day 4: Victoria Falls (Zambia)

Breakfast at your hotel and private transfers to Cape Town International Airport. Giltedge DMC to assist with all check-in formalities.

On Landing in Livingstone, guests will be met with cool towels and escorted to their waiting vehicles for the short 15 minute transfer to their hotel. On arrival at the hotel, guests will be met by a local choir whilst welcome drinks are served.


LUNCH: Buffet style at your hotel overlooking the tranquil Zambezi River.


After lunch some time to stretch your legs with a walk of the Falls, in smaller groups (due to narrow paths), to witness Mosi-oa-Tunya, The Smoke that Thunders. The walk also takes guests past the local craft market at the entrance to the Falls for some local souvenirs.

Discover how the Falls were formed and what local customs and traditions surround them. Witness the majestic Victoria Falls whilst standing amidst the spray and mist.


After your walk, return to your hotel where you will be collected in the later afternoon for your evening sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River. Guests are met by staff from the cruise boat and driven to the ‘Royal Landing’ jetty on the Zambezi River for boarding. Meander slowly upstream along the length of the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park looking for game on the way.


Heed the call of Africa while sipping traditional cocktails and enjoying delicious snacks in the fading twilight hours on this fabulous two hour cruise. Sip your G&T as you watch a magical African sunset over the waters of this magnificent river. Group will be split across 2 boats (max capacity 150 per boat).


DINNER: Return to your hotel for a welcome dinner on the hotel lawns (weather permitting), with background music by a local artist.

Day 5: Victoria Falls (Zambia)

After an early breakfast, guests will depart for a fun filled safari day in the Chobe National Park (Botswana).


The Chobe National Park in Botswana is only a 1¾-hour drive from Livingstone. It is one of the greatest game reserves in Southern Africa and famous for the number of elephant that live there. The Chobe River flows lazily through the Caprivi flood plains and provides a haven for huge herds of buffalo and elephant, zebra, wildebeest and impala which are followed closely by predators including lion, hyena, the elusive leopard and the odd pack of the now rare wild dog. The bird life in particular is exceptional.


Morning: River Safari, viewing safari from the comfort of your boat (max capacity 100 per boat).


LUNCH: buffet lunch at a local lodge


Afternoon: Game Drive in the Chobe National Park (max. capacity 10 per vehicle)


DINNER: Enjoy a dine around dinner this evening, either at your hotel, the next door AVANI (Zambezi Sun) or even an informal movie night, under the stars, on the lawns!

Welcome Marimba Band and sundowner drinks on the lawn near the Boma, wearing your African shirt (men) and Chitenge cloth (ladies) - staff will be on hand to assist with tying the Chitenges for the ladies.

DINNER: Farewell private dinner at The Boma with Drumming (CSR activity) wearing your traditional room drop gifts.

The Boma is an outdoor venue located between our two properties; the AVANI Victoria Falls Resort and the Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara a mere five minute walk from either property. Set up in a traditional African village style, this is the perfect private venue for a traditional African night.

This venue with its blazing bonfire under the crisp African Sky, together with a choice of African and International Dishes and Traditional Entertainment, adds an unforgettable experience to the groups stay in Zambia. We recommend local dancers, gymnasts & fire eaters and a DJ for guests to dance the night away under the African sky (maximum of 350 guests).

Day 7: End of Itinerary

Breakfast at your hotel – morning to pack and check out before your short road transfer to Livingstone Airport for your 2 x private charter flights to Johannesburg. Flight duration 1hr 40min flight


On arrival in Johannesburg, you will transfer to your onward international flights or those requiring an overnight in Johannesburg will check in at the Intercontinental Hotel at the Airport or alternatively a hotel in Sandton.
