Day notes

Upon your arrival at Windhoek International Airport, you will first complete the immigration formalities. Your private tour guide will warmly welcome you. The journey begins with the drive to Windhoek, and, time permitting, we will enjoy a guided city tour to discover its main attractions.

The rest of the day is at your leisure.

In the evening, we will enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant.

Your first major adventure takes you to the world-famous Etosha National Park. On the way, you will pass through the charming towns of Okahandja and Outjo, as well as Tsumeb, a town with an intriguing mining history. Afterwards, we will continue your journey toward Etosha National Park – home to an impressive variety of wildlife and stunning landscapes that will make your safari experiences truly unforgettable.

Over the next two days, you will enjoy a morning and an afternoon game drives in an open safari vehicle extending into the eastern part of Etosha National Park. With some luck, you may encounter majestic giraffes, proud lions, and mighty elephants – unforgettable moments amid the fascinating African wildlife. Y

Day notes

Today, your journey continues north to the northern border of Namibia, arriving at the lodge west of Rundu. Take the opportunity to explore the surroundings and get to know the land and its people through the excursions offered by the lodge. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the river at Hakusembe, where you can soak in the tranquil river landscape, observe the abundant birdlife, and, with a bit of luck, spot hippos or crocodiles in their natural habitat. A perfect experience to enjoy the beauty of the region from the water.

After breakfast, we will drive along the Trans-Caprivi Highway to your lodge on the banks of the Kavango River. In the later afternoon we will enjoy a boat trips, where you will have the opportunity to observe the impressive birdlife of the Caprivi and enjoy the peaceful river scenery.

At Ndhovu, we will go on an exciting game drives into the Mahangu National Park.

It is an ideal place for wildlife watching, nature experiences, and peaceful relaxation amid unspoiled nature.

Today, we reach the easternmost part of Namibia and drive through the scenic landscapes of the national park to Katima Mulilo. At the Ngoma Bridge border post, you leave Namibia and enter Botswana, where your lodge is ready to welcome you. The region is renowned for its impressive wildlife, which you can experience up close on the excursions offered by the lodge.

Already in the afternoon, you have the opportunity to take part in a boat trip, which is included in the program.

Over the next two days, you can participate in two of the lodge’s offered activities, such as a river boat cruise or a game drive. Alternatively, you can take a trip to the world-famous Victoria Falls (transfer only, no guided tour).

The next stage of your journey takes us through the vibrant towns of Katima Mulilo and Kongola to the Nambwa Tented Lodge. The afternoon is at your leisure. From the lodge’s terrace, you can calmly observe the animals as they come down to the river – a wonderful introduction to the natural beauty of this region.

You will take part in two activities offered by the lodge – for example, a game drive and a boat trip. There is a very good chance that you will also observe a magnificent herd of elephants during these excursions.

The journey takes us from the remote Nambwa Tented Lodge through scenic landscapes toward the Hakusembe River Lodge on the banks of the Kavango River. Along the way, you can enjoy the tranquil beauty of the Caprivi Strip, passing open plains, river landscapes, and lush vegetation.

Today, your journey heads southwards again, passing through Tsumeb, a lively mining town, as well as Otavi and Otjiwarongo, before arriving at a comfortable lodge.

Along the way, we visit the charming Thonningii Winefarm, lovingly run by Gilmar and Tamara Boshoff – a true hidden gem. Their boutique wines reflect a passion for life and nature, with a focus on sustainable production that captures the unique character of the Otavi Mountain Valley. During a tour of the vineyards and wine cellar, you will gain fascinating insights into winemaking, before tasting the exquisite wines alongside homemade farm products such as cheese, sausages, bread, and butter, giving you new energy for the journey ahead.

The afternoon is at your leisure – enjoy the peace and charm of the surroundings.

At Okonjima Plains Camp, you will take part on two activities offered by the lodge - such as a guided game drives through the private reserve, bush walks to explore the local flora and fauna, and a visit to the AfriCat Foundation. The lodge also offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and nature photography, allowing you to fully enjoy the African wilderness in a relaxed setting.

After a leisurely breakfast, we will drive via Okahandja to Windhoek to Hosea Kutako International Airport.
