Day 1: Moshi

You will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where a driver will be waiting to transfer you to your base hotel in Moshi. You will have dinner and an overnight stay in MOSHI.

  

Day 2: Mount Kilimanjaro

At 10a.m your driver will drive you to the Lemosho starting Point via the Londorossi Gate. You will drive for almost 2 to 3 hours until you reach the Londorossi Gate. You will have your lunch at the gate while your guide will process your permit for the climb and will ensure that all the luggage the porters are carrying is weighed at the gate. Once your guide gets the permit, you will be further driven to the Lemosho Starting Point to begin your trek. From the starting point you will walk for almost 3 to 4 hours through the main forest on a winding trail to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2750mts). You will enjoy a hot dinner and overnight stay at MTI MKUBWA CAMPSITE.

Day 3: Mount Kilimanjaro

After Breakfast, you leave the forest to continue on an ascending path crossing through the Heather and Moorland for almost 4 hours up to Shira 1 Camp (3500mts). You will stop at Shira 1 Camp for some rest and a hot lunch. After enjoying your hot lunch, you will leave Shira 1 Camp and walk through grassy moorlands for around 3 to 4 hours until you reach Shira 2 Camp. You will have a hot dinner and overnight stay at SHIRA 2 CAMPSITE.

Day 4: Mount Kilimanjaro

You will leave for another 5 to 7-hour walk to Barranco Camp (3900mts). You will walk across a wide valley, climb a ridge crest and cross scree slopes. Tonight you will have dinner and an overnight stay at BARRANCO CAMPSITE.

Day 5: Mount Kilimanjaro

Early in the morning after breakfast, you leave Barranco camp for Karanga Valley camp (3950mts) which is a walk of 3 to 4 hours by crossing the floor of the great Barranco wall to the Karanga river that is the last water point on this route. This extra day is meant to help split the long day in half and has proven to be very important for acclimatization. Tonight you will have a hot dinner and overnight stay at KARANGA VALLEY CAMPSITE.

Day 6: Mount Kilimanjaro

You will leave Karanga Valley camp for Barafu camp (4600mts) by crossing the Karanga river which is the last water point on this route. The trek today will involve gaining more elevation and acclimatization for the summit climb at midnight. A hot dinner and overnight stay will be had at BARAFU CAMPSITE.
 

Day 7: Mount Kilimanjaro

This is the day you’ve been waiting for! With an early start around 1 a.m., you will leave Barafu Camp for the summit – Uhuru Peak – the highest point in Africa at 5896 mts. This will be a 6 to 7-hour walk via Stella Point. You will arrive to a sunrise view over Kilimanjaro. After a short rest and photographs, you will descend to Mweka Campsite (3000 mts) after a 5 to 7-hour walk. You will have your dinner and overnight stay at MWEKA CAMPSITE

Day 8: Moshi

On your final day on the mountain, you’ll have an early breakfast and then descend 3 to 4 hours to the park gate at Mweka Wildlife College. A driver will transfer you to your base hotel in Moshi for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9: End of Itinerary

After breakfast, you will check out and be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport [JRO], you will proceed with your onward travel arrangements.
