Londolozi Game Reserve
Londolozi is one of South Africa’s original private game reserves. A pillar of global ecotourism and a proud family-run business for nearly 100 years, Londolozi is a beacon of light for many...
Londolozi comes from a Zulu word and means Protector Of All Living Things. This name reflects the ambitious conservation ethic in the lodge's relationship with the natural world. The reserve has been lauded internationally for its foresight, progressive land-wildlife management practices, and productive community involvement. This philosophy realizes that Londolozi is a platform for advocacy of the restoration movement and the new consciousness. It is a Futuristic African Village that should inspire a desire in all to live in a deeper connection with each other and the natural world.
Here the emphasis on conservation and a village ethos stands alongside a commitment to luxurious accommodation, fine cuisine, and exceptional service. In 1993, Londolozi became the first game reserve in the world to be accorded Relais & Châteaux status.

Cape Town
A coming-together of cultures, cuisines, and landscapes, there's nowhere quite like Cape Town, a singularly beautiful city crowned by the magnificent Table Mountain National Park.
Natural Wonders
Table Mountain National Park defines the city. The flat-topped mountain is the headline act, but there are many other equally gorgeous natural landscapes within the park’s extensive boundaries. Cultivated areas, such as the historic Company’s Garden, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, and Green Point Urban Park, also make exploring the city a pleasure. Follow the lead of locals by taking full advantage of the abundant outdoor space: learn to surf; go hiking or mountain biking; tandem-paraglide off Lion’s Head; abseil off the top of Table Mountain – just a few of the many activities on offer.
Art & Design
Human creativity is also self-evident here – it's one of the things that made the city a World Design Capital in 2014. From the brightly painted facades of the Bo-Kaap and the bathing chalets of Muizenberg to the Afro-chic decor of its restaurants and bars and the striking street art and innovation incubators of the East City and Woodstock, this is one great-looking metropolis. The informal settlements of the Cape Flats are a sobering counterpoint. Still, these townships also have ambitious projects that put food from organic market gardens on tables, or stock gift shops with attractive souvenirs.
People & Culture
Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, and traditional African beliefs coexist peacefully in this proudly multicultural city. Given South Africa’s troubled history, such harmony has been hard-won and remains fragile: nearly everyone has a fascinating, sometimes heartbreaking story to tell. It’s a city of determined pioneers – from the Afrikaner descendants of the original Dutch colonists and the majority colored community to the descendants of European Jewish immigrants and more recent Xhosa (isiXhosa) migrants from the Eastern Cape. They all bring unique flavors to Cape Town’s vibrant melting pot.
Beyond the City
Wrenching yourself away from the magnetic mountain and all the delights of the Cape Peninsula is a challenge. Still, within an hour, you can exchange urban landscapes for the charming towns, villages, and rural estates of Winelands destinations, such as Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Hermanus is a prime whale-watching location and also a base from which to organize shark-cave diving. Further afield, the delights of the Garden Route unfold, with more inspiring scenery to be viewed on thrilling drives down the coast and over mountain passes.

Things to do in Cape Town
- The Flying Dutchman Funicular travels on a railroad on Cape Point, providing a novel and exciting way to travel and see the sights. From the bottom station, you will journey through dense foliage and fynbos to the upper lighthouse.
The Table Mountain Aerial cableway. The ride is a gentle one, the rotating state-of-the-art cable car taking visitors from the lower station to the top in around 5 minutes.
Robben Island Museum is a World Heritage Site and museum, offering daily tours. The tour begins at the Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V&A Waterfront with a multimedia exhibition, museum shop and restaurant, after which, guests hop onto the ferry for a scenic trip to the island. Once on Robben Island itself, the tour is guided by a former political prisoner of the island, for unique and incomparable insights into the island’s history.

Welcome to the premium South African vineyard region!
- Stay at Leeu Estates for 3 nights
Franschhoek
Franschhoek is in a scenic valley around an hour from Cape Town in the heart of South Africa's wine country. When the Huguenots first settled in there over 300 years ago, they brought their traditions and knowledge in winemaking and viticulture from their native France. The French influence is still there today, with many streets and businesses being named French.
There are plenty of ways to enjoy the vineyards apart from just tasting the wines. Many offer paired tasting with foods as diverse as fudge, chocolate or cheese. Olive oil is also made in the valley and offered for purchase or to taste. Several vineyards offer a full day of experiences with beautiful gardens to wander around, restaurants and shops such as Babylonstoren or Boschendhal.
