Day 1: Cape Town

Welcome to South Africa! Meet & Greet by our local travel agency. We will assist in exchanging money, take over of your rental car and brief you regarding your upcoming journey. Transfer to your first accommodation in Cape Town. With its multicultural charm, diverse city life and a great variety of outdoor activities, South Africa's nominated “Mother City” has something to offer for every taste!

Day 2: Cape Town

Enjoy breakfast before departing along the most scenic stretches of the Atlantic coastline South Africa has to offer. In Hout Bay, depending on season and weather, opt for a harbor walk and seal boat cruise before heading south and along the most popular Chapman's Peak - known for its unique and beautiful views of the bay and mountain backdrop. Cape of Good Hope, an endemic plant paradise offers opportunity to spot antelopes, ostriches, and baboons as well as take as to take a photo shot at the country’s most visited viewing point. Take a troll or the historic Funicular to reach the southern tip of the Cape Peninsula. After lunch (at your own account) depart to Simon's Town and visit the Boulders penguin colony nesting protected in a serene beach reserve. Your day ends in Cape Town, taking the Cable car for spectacular city views up majestic Table Mountain.

Day 3: Cape Town

Visit the country's oldest university town Stellenbosch, known for its historic Cape Dutch architecture, galleries, unique souvenir- and art shops and its Village Museum. Enjoy lunch at a selected wine farm before exploring Franschhoek, a French village still very much influenced by its culture. International awarded wineries along the route offer pairings, tastings and cellar tours introducing you to the world-known finest wines grown in South Africa. Indulge in flavors, artisan food and spectacular scenery all day long.

Day 4: Rovos Rail

Look forward to the most luxurious way of train travel. You will be leaving the Mother City via the scenic countryside and mountains of Worcester. Enjoy the chilled atmosphere and all cozy comfort with a cup of tea while settling slowly into the rhythm on board. Dinner is served daily at 7:30 p.m.

Day 5: Matjiesfontein

eFirst stop along the journey is Matjesfontein. As the train winds its way through the South Africa's Karoo, relax back with coffee and breakfast, served until 10:00 am. After arrival, explore the historic Karoo village, a collection of historic cars and railway carriages, as well as the late Victorian-style Lord Milner Hotel along the guided walk. Continue your journey through the rustic and vast expanse of the semi-desert Karoo region, relaxing and enjoying all comfort of train travel.

Day 6: Kimberley

Arrival in Kimberley is after an early breakfast on board. Look forward to exploring the Diamond Mine Museum and famous Big Hole during a city tour. The capital of the Northern Cape Province became known for the discovery of diamonds, which led to the founding of the city in 1871. Your final leg of the Rovos-Journey takes you through the vast steppes and grasslands on your way towards Gauteng.

Day 7: Gauteng

Your final stop is Pretoria! After being transferred to the railway station, you will be meet & greet by a local guide, taking you on an orientation through "Jozi".  Explore among other Hillbrow, a suburb with great diversity, where ethnicities lived happily together – in spite of previous apartheid struggle. Visit the highest court in the country (if open) and a "Shebeen" to taste and enjoy locally made food and drinks!

Days 8 - 10: Marakele National Park

Look forward to exciting bush adventures in one of the most exclusive reserves South Africa has to offer. Enjoy early breakfast before being transferred to Marataba Safari Lodge. Arrive just in time for light lunch in spectacular landscape setting, with unbeatable views of the vast bushveld and mountains of the Waterberg.  Venture out late afternoon, with upskilled and ambitious ranger to experience your first safari in most comfortable 4x4 game vehicles. You will return back to the lodge after night fall to enjoy dinner al fresco.

Days 11 - 13: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Transfer to Johannesburg Airport and check-in for your flight to Zambia! Meet & Greet after arrival by hotel and transfer to Stanley Livingstone Boutique Hotel. Over the coming days explore the majestic Victoria Falls, cruise the Zambesi at its finest time for the most magical sundowner moments. Safari enthusiasts visit Chobe National Park for spectacular Big-5 game viewing in a world-known prime game destination.
