Arrive Nairobi

Day 1:  Met on arrival and transfer to your hotel to shake off jet lag and prepare for the adventure ahead!   

Day notes

Samburu National Park - home to wildlife seen only in the north!  Reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Somali ostrich, Grevy's zebra to name a few.

Day 2:  Today you will fly to the Samburu National Reserve; met on arrival and transfer to our lodge.  Afternoon on safari.

Day 3:  On safari plus lodge activities.

Lewa Conservancy - the largest rhino sanctuary in East Africa! 

Day 4:  Fly to Lewa today; met on arrival and transfer to camp.  Afternoon on safari and/or enjoy the myriad activities available at camp and in this part of Northern Kenya.

Days 5 & 6:  On safari plus camp activities.

Giraffe Manor - home to Rothchild's giraffes and Giraffe Center

Day 7:  After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip and fly back to Nairobi.  You are met and driven to Giraffe Manor to enjoy the day and the many unique activities on offer.   You might opt to attend the 5:00pm foster parents' visit at the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage  (very near to Giraffe Manor; they will transfer you there and activities at the Manor are timed to ensure you will not miss tea or dinner.)  You can also go to the Karen Blixen Home.  Do note:  to attend the 5:00pm visit you must adopt a baby elephant; a maximum of 2 'parents' per baby and the cost to adopt one baby is $50.

Masai Mara - Vast plains to explore during your three nights

Day 8:  Fly to the world famous Masai Mara where you are met and driven to camp.  Afternoon on safari. 

Days 9 & 10:  On safari.

Serengeti National Park - unsurpassed game viewing in this vast area.  Your exact location is dependent on the time of year you travel. 

Day 11:   Fly to the Kenya/Tanzania border where you must clear immigration and fly onto the Serengeti and your lodge. Afternoon on safari. 

Days 12/13:  On safari.

Ngorongoro Crater 

Day 14: Fly to the Crater area.  

Day 15:  Descend into the Crater today with  4x4 safari vehicle for your game drive in this UNESCO world heritage site.

Kigali, Rwanda - gateway to Volcanoes National Park and their gorillas

Day 16:  Fly to Kigali today by way of Entebbe; met on arrival and transfer to your hotel for the evening.

Volcanoes National Park - Goriilas and Golden Monkeys

Day 17:  After breakfast, you will visit the Genocide Museum and enjoy a brief tour of Kigali with your private guide before heading out by road in your 4x4 safari vehicle to the gorilla trekking area.

Day 18:   Get up early and head out to park headquarters where you have a trek briefing before beginning your gorilla trek.   

Day 19 - Golden monkey trek and optional activities from the lodge.

Homeward...

Day 20:  After breakfast, head back to Kigali and the airport in time to check-in for your flight back to Nairobi and homeward.   You may be able to fly directly from Kigali depending on your gateway.
