After early breakfast climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Sigiriya Rock Fortress (UNESCO World Heritage Site) which is known as the 8th wonder of the world. This rock fortress was built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century A.D. and was a royal citadel for more than 18 years. In a sheltered a pocket, approached by a spiral stairway, are the famous frescoes. The summit of the rock, with an area of nearly one hectare was the site of the palace and the outer wall was built on the very brink of the precipice. The UNESCO sponsored Central Cultural Fund has restored Sigiriya 5th century water gardens to their former glory.

Afternoon, set on an exclusive jeep safari at the Minneriya National Park to witness the unique phenomenon of elephant gathering. During the dry season, from June to September, hundreds of elephants gather around the Minneriya Tank for water. Such a large number of elephants could not be sighted in one place, anywhere else in the world! **Depending on the elephant migration patterns, the safari will be done in Minneriy or Kaudualla or Eco Park**

Hike Pidurangala Rock for sunrise - Proceed to Pidurangala early morning and climb to the top of the rock to view the sunrise (If time permits)

Lace-up your hiking boots for the very first stage of The Pekoe Trail taking you from Hanthana to Galaha. Begin your trek at the Ceylon Tea Museum (a place worth visiting if you’re keen on learning about the history of tea in Sri Lanka) and continue to walk in the shade of the tall trees that line the roads of the Hanthana Tea Estate, one of the oldest and largest tea plantations in Sri Lanka.

Enjoy the splendid view of the mountain peaks, the terraced hills and lush green valleys. The fall consists of three sections and though a little tough to climb, tourists will not be disappointed by the magnificent view from the top of the Ramboda Falls.
Visit to a tea plantation, here you will have a complete tea experience, from the moment the young tea leaves are plucked from the plantation, to their processing in the factory, to a delicious and steamy cup of tea. If you are interested, the tea factory is the best place to purchase good quality tea.

Ella draws travelers to Sri Lanka's highlands with its mountain forests, tea plantations, and relatively cool climate and is a very popular stop, start, or ending point along the trail. Starting at the train station, the walk to Demodara is very doable and very easy. It is one of the shortest stages of The Pekoe Trail and one of the most popular ones.
