There are a couple of commercial flights a day into Mfuwe from Lusaka which we can arrange for you. After collecting your luggage you will be met in the arrivals hall and then you have a short 20min flight in a light aircraft up to the Luambe National Park . The airstrip is close to camp and your game viewing starts right from airstrip.
A safari in Luambe National Park is excellent as there are basically no other camps here so you really have the park to your self, and you can explore this by doing a bush walk, game drives in the early morning and afternoon and also evening drives to try and catch a sight of some of the nocturnal creatures that come out in the cool evenings.
The plan today would be to drive into the South Luangwa National Park where you will follow the river all the way down into the Nsefu sector of the park. You will be met at a pre-arranged sport to change over vehicles and you will now be with your guide from Nsefu Camp for the final part of the game drive transfer into Camp.
The Nsefu area is one of my favorite in the South Luangwa and your camp also is of some historic significance as well and parts of that have been preserved here. Nsefu has the big advantage of having very few other camps around and it is National Park on both sides of the River. The game and bird viewing is fantastic with nice herds of buffalo and elephant and the resident big cats always complete the safari experience and atmosphere. While you are here you will be doing the same type of activities as you did in Luambe and depending on river levels there may be an option to have a river cruise as well.
You will have a game drive transfer this morning from camp that will get you back to the Mfuwe Airport or if you choose to add more camps and destinations we can arrange and plan all the transfer and routing logisitics to make the safari all flow together.
