Day 1: Kapama Private Game Reserve

Arrival into OR Tambo, VIP tarmac meet & greet and assistance via Immigration to Domestic Departures - Board your 1 hour flight to Hoedspruit.


Short road transfer to your private lodge, Kapama Private Game Reserve – larger groups will be split between: River Lodge (60 rooms) / Southern Camp (15 rooms) and Karula Lodge (12 rooms) (all located a short drive from each other).


Lodge staff will meet you on arrival with lemon scented warm towels and sparkling wine. Afternoon tea, followed by a game drive in open vehicles: Trackers sit up at the front of the Land Rover looking for fresh animal tracks, while rangers drive with astonishing skill into ravines and through thicket in pursuit of elusive animals, simultaneously wowing guests with their outstanding knowledge and unforgettable stories. Allow the field guides to wow you with their safari know how, move you with their stories, and bring you one step closer to nature. In the evening, your eyes are in for a feast as well. Drink in the winter skyline; looking out for those postcard images – the bare thorn tree standing stark against the shimmering red of the sinking sun as the black of night approaches from behind you.


DINNER: Boma dinner at River Lodge with a local choir. Every ingredient is chosen with care, favouring home grown organic produce, free range game and herbs from the kitchen garden to create dishes that are irresistibly delicious and healthy.

Day 2: Kapama Private Game Reserve

Rise with the dawn for your early morning Game Drive. This South African Game Reserve provides an authentic, intimate safari experience, boasting amazing wildlife viewing, in the wild African bush, whilst retaining all the luxuries and comforts of en-suite facilities and home-from-home lodging.

Experienced rangers and trackers will take you on an exciting bush adventure. Return for breakfast at your Lodge.


Morning at leisure - optional activities : bush walking expeditions, centre for endangered animals, cultural village visit, hot air ballooning & SPA/wellness centre


LUNCH: At lodge, followed by a late afternoon game drive with sundowner drinks stop.


DINNER: Private bush dinner, under the stars, with a local Shangaan choir. Savour meat cooked on an open fire, pots with various local delicacies and energetic entertainment with traditional dancers. Feel the beat of their drum and the rhythm of their dancing.

Day 3: Cape Town

An early morning game drive is a richly rewarding experience. Witnessing the start of the day in the African bush is like being invited to partake in a daily miracle. A dawn chorus of birdsong and the haunting calls of fish eagles, the air rich with the night flowers’ perfume and delightfully cool.


Enjoy your final morning game drive before returning to the lodge for breakfast.


Road transfer to Hoedspruit Airport to board your 2 hour flight to Cape Town Airport.

Arrival tarmac VIP meet and greet and short transfer to your 5 star hotel.

Welcome sparkling wine and cool scented towels whilst you check in at your hotel.

Walk to your welcome dinner in the V&A Waterfront this evening, Harbour House Restaurant or

similar.


DINNER: This evening savour local seafood or excellent steaks paired with award winning wines at Belthazar a popular V&A waterfront restaurant

Bush Walks Kapama Wildlife

Day 4: Cape Town

Breakfast at your hotel and depart for Table Mountain – ascend via a five-minute cable car trip to the top, 1 089 meters above Cape Town, and explore the summit (exclusive cable car use also available for groups).


Table Mountain is proud to be one of the official New7Wonders of Nature. There are magnificent views from its distinctively flat-topped summit. Abseil off the worlds’ highest natural commercial abseils – step off the top, at 1000 meters above sea level and abseil into pure vertical space. You are surrounded by awesome views and the deep blue Atlantic at your feet. Alternatively explore at your leisure on marked paths and trails.


LUNCH: Descend into the bustling streets and brightly coloured houses of the Bo-Kaap, located above the city, for a delicious local lunch - tuck into a Cape Malay selection of samosas and sweet treats like koeksisters and milk tart and visit to Atlas Spice Trading to shop for spices to take home.


This afternoon on your interactive inner city walking tour, visit Slave lodges, find wells that have watered generations of sailors and fruit trees that have staved of scurvy. Find the story behind statues and stolen marble pillars. Witness how the Rainbow nation was born….stroll the vibey streets and meet local inner city buskers, making their living entertaining passers by.


DINNER: at a local beach restaurant, The Grand at The Beach or similar

Colourful Bo Kaap Houses

Day 5: Cape Town

Breakfast at your hotel and depart for your full day Cape Peninsula excursion.


Start the day with a breath taking Heli flip over the Cape Peninsula, landing close to Cape Point, at Millers Point, for your Power Boating activity.

Alternative: Transfer by road on Harley Davidson motorcycles


Round the Cape of Storms in a powerboat for a truly unique way to appreciate the stunning views and rugged, dramatic beauty of Cape Point. The group will hear stories of shipwrecks, sea life and ghost ships, all of which have made this peninsula notoriously famous.


Power boating: Approximately 1 hour 15 min including briefing (10 Pax per boat)


LUNCH: Disembark from your boats on the beach at Cape Point (weather permitting), for some sparkling wine, followed by a sumptuous seafood lunch at Two Oceans Restaurant at Cape Point.

This afternoon travel to Boulders Beach and a close up walking experience amongst the resident penguins.

Scenic transfer back to your hotel in the later afternoon via the Naval town of Simonstown and brightly coloured bathing beach houses at Muizenberg.


DINNER: at a local restaurant in Camps Bay, Blues or Bungalow.

Cape Point Power Boat Excursion

Day 6: Cape Town

Breakfast at your Hotel and departure for your full day Cape Winelands excursion.


A day in the Winelands is all about relaxing! Linking wine farms together with a slow meandering cycle along flat farm roads, we will explore the Franschhoek Valley in a unique and memorable fashion.


The Cycling route is short and easy enough for anyone to complete with more challenging routes available for fitter cyclists. After admiring the architecture as we cycle through the back roads of this quaint village we will make our way through the vineyards to stop for a wine tasting alongside bubbling streams.


LUNCH: Continue along country lanes past horses and cattle, old and modern wine farms- where we stop for another tasting- before ending with a gourmet lunch and wine pairing. This is a great way to experience the true way of life of this historic region.


For the less active, a guided visit to The Franschhoek Motor Museum – a special opportunity to look back at more than 100 years of motoring history with its unique and exciting collection of vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and memorabilia in the magnificent setting of L’Ormarins Wine Estate.

Late afternoon return to your hotel.

Day 7: Cape Town

Get your hands dirty and get rooted in South African culture.


In order to conserve our natural heritage, Greenpop, a local tree planting organisation, plants thousands of trees in reforestation projects in South Africa. Spend the day with local school children and the community, planting trees in the local townships, leaving a lasting legacy of your visit.


Suggested programme:

9:00 Arrival & introduction to the school with tea and coffee

9:15 Welcome talk by the Greenpop team & introduction to the beneficiary school

(quite often with a song or dance performance by the children)

9:30 Educational activities and games themed around tree planting and looking after the environment

10:00 Planting demonstration

10:30 Tree planting in mixed groups of children and participants

12:30 Last touches of tree planting, playing with the children

12.35 Thanks from Greenpop / Uthando / hand-over of certificates and good-byes


LUNCH: 1.30 Lunch at a local restaurant (group will be split up into smaller groups)


Late afternoon return to your hotel with a heart full of happiness.


DINNER: dinner this evening at a local African Restaurant, Gold, start with a hand washing and face painting ceremony and then a feast from the North to the South of the African continent.

Day 8: End of Itinerary

Breakfast at your Hotel.


Morning at leisure for some free time at the hotel or perhaps some last minute shopping (schedule may be changed depending on flight departure time).


Afternoon transfer to the Airport. Giltedge DMC to assist with all check-in formalities.
