Day notes

Arrival Johannesburg International Airport with meet and greet on arrival and scheduled charter flight to Royal Malewane departing Johannesburg at 11h00

( Note: for international flights please give enough min connecting times – normally preferable for 3 hrs, alternatively they is a later schedule flight Johannesburg – Hoedspruit (HDS) and then a 40mins transfer to the lodge. For the purpose of this quote we have based on the charter service operated by the lodge)

On arrival at the Jackelberry Airstrip ( serves Royal Malewane – note the flight acts as a shuttle and may stop off at other lodges in the Kruger area en route ) at approx. 1300 you are met by your ranger and 4x4 landrover for short transfer to Royal Malewane

In addition to the two daily game drives and the option of relaxing or exercising at the Spa in the lap pool or well-equipped gym, activities on a luxury Africa safari are numerous. Enjoy the Library or browse the extensive selection of jewellery, clothing and other souvenirs in the Curio Shop

If you feel like venturing further afield, we can arrange the following at an additional charge:

-Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre: animals and birds can be viewed up close as they are nursed back to health, from eagles, owls and vultures to wild dogs, lions and leopard.
-Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre: view unusual species such as wild dogs, the black-footed cat, African wild cat and sable antelope; watch rare vultures feeding.
-Helicopter Flights: For the ultimate luxury Africa safari experience, these offer thrilling viewing of canyons, waterfalls and rock formations.
-Hot Air Balloon Flights: For a more sedate but no less spectacular luxury Africa safari experience, watch the sun rise and survey the African wilderness from the sky in a hot air balloon.
-Canyon Cruise: cruise on the Blyde Dam, enjoy a picnic lunch and see the area from the water.
-Golf: play on the exclusive Leopard Creek Championship Golf Estate amidst bush dwellers such as giraffe, impala and hippo. Expertly designed, the course borders the Crocodile River and is a great challenge for all golfers.
-Horse Riding Safaris: To enhance your luxury Africa safari experience, explore the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate on horseback, viewing lots of plains game from your saddle.

Day notes

Following final safari at Royal Malewane and breakfast at a time advised by the lodge you will transfer the short distance to Royal Malewane’s airstrip to await the schedule bush flight that will come to collect you

Depart with Fed air flight ( included in our costs) from Royal Malewane to Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport

Arriving at 1500 approx in to Johannesburg with Federal Air.

Note: Please note that this is not a direct flight and goes via Skukuza Airport. It may stop at other airports / lodges en route to final destination

Met by a private vehicle at the Federal Air terminal and transferred to the Saxon Hotel & Spa for your overnight arrangements.

Note: if an overnight in Johannesburg not required or wanted then private air charters for additional costs can link Royal Malewane directly to Tswalu's own airstrip without the need to route back via Johannesburg

Departs at 1300 and arrives at Tswalu 1500 ( check-in is at 1200 latest)

Note: Luggage allowance of 12 kg per person in soft sided bag usually for this flight service Tswalu – Cape Town, though as you are not returning to Johannesburg and going on to Cape Town, from where you depart, need to verify luggage solution for this sector, though you need to be aware they are strict on luggage allowance for these safari flights.

Arrival in to Tswalu’s own airstrip met by 4x4 landrover and ranger and transfer +_ 35 minutes through pristine wilderness to the lodge for check –in.

Final safari and breakfast. Continue to the airstrip by 4x4 to depart on the afternoon schedule service that Tswalu provide to link Cape Town with the lodge. ( Feel suitable to use this service as it will work well and keep cost lower that bringing in a private plane to collect you for this leg)

Full day Cape Peninsular (or) “Go As You Please Basis”

Two choices to consider:

Cape Peninsular Tour
Depart the hotel at approximately 9:00am with private vehicle and private guide and drive in a southerly direction onto the Cape Peninsula. On passing the face of Table Mountain we pass places District Six, Rhodes Estate, Groote Schuur Hospital, Rhodes Memorial and The University of Cape Town. All of these places are deeply entrenched in the history and culture of Cape Town and invariably leads to interesting discussions regarding the past and future of South Africa.
As before Anna will discuss with your requirements, and what your preferences to see are.
Program is flexible but the highlights are as follows;
Our first stop is the seaside village of Muizenburg where you will be able to take in the breathtaking views of False Bay. From here we follow the incredibly scenic route along the False Bay coast through the fishing villages like Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek on the way to Simonstown. Simonstown having been a British naval town until as recent as 1957, normally comes as a pleasant surprise to everyone visiting the Cape Peninsula as encountering such a ‘British Town’ in Cape Town is unexpected.
Can also arrange a cruise to seal Island for the clients on one of the local boats that offer this trip from either Simonstown or Hout Bay. Again the guide will discuss with you where appropriate as your preferences
At Simonstown we drive through the navy village and then to Boulders beach to visit the penguin colony and the two thousand Jackass Penguins dressed in their ‘tuxedos’ and doing the cute things that penguins do. After the penguin colony we drive along the wonderfully scenic mountain drive along
False Bay to visit The Cape of Good Hope reserve. Cape Point reserve is a magnificent floral wilderness at the foot of Africa. For the nature loving person it is a truly fantastic experience traversing such a unique floral kingdom. Who knows, if we are lucky enough we might even see some antelope, ostrich or baboon. If we are really fortunate we might even see the elusive Burchell Zebra that makes an appearance on the reserve infrequently.
From the Cape Point reserve we head back up the Western side of the peninsula along the treacherous Atlantic coast through the amazingly beautiful seaside hamlet of Misty Cliffs and then over the Peninsula Mountains.

For lunch for today we can suggest be at the elegant Constantia Uitsig – La Colombe Wine estate at Constantia Uitsig restaurant or quirky and stylish Harbour House in Kalk Bay ( lunch own account and these are just suggestions)
You should return to the / hotel at about 17:30pm.
